PMDG 737 Update on the way

I saw the 777 on the Marketplace sale. I was really tempted. I checked the price on the PMDG website and it was two or three quid cheaper there....

I decided to stick with plan A; to get it when it's fully compatible with 2024.

On the PMDG site you have to add the taxes. In the market place they are already included.

  • If on an ILS approach, why would you need Lnav??

It's quite common; at this point it would be the rare operator that doesn't have it.  LNAV auto-arms on the approach (any type of approach, not just an ILS) so that, on TOGA, LNAV becomes active and a

This is not on every 737 who has this option and should not be nessesary to arm during an ILS approach if i recall correctly. This is done automatic after TOGA is selected.

The LNAV armed for go around IS automatic, but it is shown as a white LNAV annunciation below the green active lateral mode during an approach.  It does then switch to LNAV automatically with TOGA, but unless you're seeing the white armed annunciation first, it's not gonna do that.  The PMDG still does not offer this option, despite it being very industry standard at this point.

It perhaps may be a technical limitation for PMDG given their adherence to "in sim" calculations only, but I'll note that the iFly includes this as an option and it works well.

Have they (PMDG) ever previewed an upcoming update before? Probably just age, but I don't remember ever seeing a streamer preview of anything from PMDG. Good on them, if that's the case.

Not sure about updates to existing products, but they did have streamers showing off the 737 and 777 before they were available.

I'm UK based, so was expecting taxes at 20%, went through a test purchase direct from PDMG, all the way through to the "Place order" tab, but the price stayed at $74.99, when does the tax get added?

You arm it for the Go Around, so many airlines have it, its an option.

Don't need this update. Don't do go arounds. always force a landing 😉

On my order in April (from the UK), the invoice had the site $ price and no tax.

I paid £58.05 on 8th April. Web/invoice price was $69.99

From NGDriver's recent video this will now be an option in the upcoming update.

TBH, judging from the videos, the nose wheel movements are still super jerky and feels super arcade.

This is one aspect that Fenix did a great job about.

Interesting, I am not from the UK but when I tried in the past I think it added taxes, but right now am not certainly sure if my memory is not leaking. Can anyone with the EU can confirm that taxes are not added? Since then the prices wouldn't be that much of an issue.

Maybe this is something we shouldn't draw attention to... 😉
