FUI? Don't drink and fly!

On a more serious note, no idea how to help. No issues here with any of the 2 FBW planes with my Airbus Thrustmaster stick and throttle

No problems with the A320- only the A380- has it sth to do with the turning main landing gears?

  • I would say with a high margin of safety that this is the biggest community achievement in the history of Flight Simulation as a whole, and not even by a small margin.

  • click spot to disable the cabin. I found it helped a bit with VRAM performance

  • So far I am mind blown. It seems to be much better than I've expected. I still need to do a full flight on it, but just playing a bit with the avionics I can see that a lot of effort has been put into

The Aircraft is turning left /right when using my sidestick ailerons - no wheels are turning

Flying the RJ right now so unable to check but did you verify that you enabled nosewheel steering in the EFB (if I remember correctly)? My TM stick is mapped for RUDDER AXIS to JOYSTICK R-AXIS Z in case that helps. Clicked the reverse tickbox for reasons I cannot remember but seems to be a good choice. when twisting the stick I see the axis movement in the control options menu. Id you see that, too, than there must be something else wrongly configured on the A380 side...

Rudder axis is disabled- I have locked the sidestick ruddder function

Can you please set in the EFB “separate tiller from rudder input” and set the throttle slider on the TCA sidestick as a tiller - check what happens if you use aileron left /right while taxiing.

This is what caused my A380 to fall out of the sky on my first flight. DI have my rudder mapped to my pedals but didn't know but the flight stick was mapped here also and the rudder locked to the left at 1000ft, she rolled over and dive-bombed.

I turned this mapping off and completed a 9 hour flight with no issues whatsoever.

sorry but I am not messing around with my running setup 😉 - if you mean me. using the throttle slider as input seems far from being intuative, twisting my stick is as easy as it gets. but as el diablito found, do you have that rudder axis assigned to more than 1 input device/axis? FWIW I just unchecked the "separate tiller" option and it still steers nicely. It being the A320 right now though but I would not expect any difference in the A380

VRAM and RAM usage is still very bad, but it's slowly getting better. Personally I'll still wait until the absurd climb rate is fixed. Climbing 5000 FPM at MTOW makes this feel like a default aircraft with a new cockpit, it doesn't deserve that.

And the takeoff roll acceleration. It feels like Jeremy in Lambo

Yeah, one would guess this is an easy fix, but obviously not

An entirely new engine model and FADEC is required which has been worked on for a while on but not slated for alpha release. I'm not really sure what made you think that it was an easy "fix".

It being an open-source project you're free to spin MATLAB on your own and submit your workings. I look forward to your submission head chef.

  • 2 weeks later...

Just downloaded the FBW 380.. looks great and VRAM just under 14GB @ KLAX with FSLTL.. this is with 4K version and cabin enabled... so I do have 10 GB headroom thanks to my RTX 3090..

In the services page - I didn't see any option for enabling wheel chocks.. anybody know how to enable wheel chocks or when this feature will be added?

I'm unable to ask this in the discord due to phone number issues.. can only read fbw discord, but not ask questions.. sp pls help me out here at avsim.. 🙂  thanks!

I'm not sure right now, but I believe chocks are set as long as the beacon lights are off. As soon as you turn them on, chocks get removed.

Hi @Watsi, I just tested again with the 380, cold and dark.. beacon light off, park brake ON.. but no visible chocks in external model.. i was able to see other visible services like cones, GPU, catering, luggage etc.. also, unlike the A320, there is no option in the flypad settings page (sim options page) for enabling wheel chocks and cones.. maybe this feature only exists for the 320 and not the 380?

https://docs.flybywiresim.com/aircraft/a32nx/feature-guides/wheel-chocks-cones/#overview

I'm on the 4K developer version.. maybe this works on the standard version? let me check..
