What do you think, I make it up? You can’t take someone’s word anymore? Gimme a break. Here’s your source:

  • Excellent update by Fenix. The aircraft is running very well on my older machine now. Sharklets look great!

  • I'm super curious what they will work on after the sharklets are totally rolled out and the planes are updated for 2024.

First and foremost it is their sim, and their decision to make.

Second I'd argue that they simply picked the better approach. The only discriminating factor was whether you were on the marketplace or not. It doesn't matter if you sell lots of units or not, if you are an awesome developer or not. It was the most objective choice that does not open oneself up to being called out on favoritism.

I fundamentally agree with your take on things. I just don’t think  by he word favoritism should have ever been used. After all, to your first point, it’s their decision.

My ultimate personal opinion on the matter is that they made an accurate decision. However I think they could have used a little more precision in their decision making process. It’s only an opinion and doesn’t necessarily suggest I disagree with their decision.

No. It's called using an objective deciding factor, which is the opposite of "favoritism."

What you're advocating is to allow people in based on subjective judgment, which is the very definition of favoritism and would only serve to tell people who don't get in "sorry buddy, we don't consider you good enough."

The only ones being "dramatic" here are those trying to pass this as some sort of Lèse-majesté and get outraged on behalf of a developer who isn't, in fact, outraged at all.

Chill.

I’m not outraged. I don’t know why you jumped to that conclusion. The decisions that asobo/MS Don’t affect me on a personal like they do for some people.

Favoritism wouldn’t have been automatically at play if asobo/MS decided to hand pick who got access and who didn’t.

Hand-picking studios to include and excluding others according to arbitrary parameters is the literal definition of favoritism.

No it’s not. The definition of favoritism includes the word unfair, not arbitrary.

"Fairness" is subjective.

For you it would be fair to include Fenix as a special case. For other developers who value their contribution to flight simulation as relevant as Fenix's (and their fans), it'd be unfair. The very foundation of fairness is not giving anyone special treatment.
