No. It is not.

The only objective discriminating factor was marketplace presence.

Ultimately, if they start making exceptions based on quality (or perceived quality, because then other developers with high opinions of their work would feel slighted) where do they draw the line?

Who decides the quality threshold? Who decides how many above that threshold should be included? And especially, who tells the others that they're not considered good enough?

Who decides who is "significant" and who isn't?

What you're advocating is called favoritism.

It’s not favoritism, stop being so dramatic. Asobo/microsoft are well aware of the developers who have paved the way like fenix has. There is no reason why they couldn’t have given access to the big hitter developers so said developers can  Offer a smooth transition for their customers.

one could argue it’s “favoritism” only allowing developers in the marketplace to have access.

Thanks I’ll have to save that list.

I wonder if they could just add something to the thumbnail in the livery downloaded?  Not elegant perhaps, but a workable solution.

Apparently only developers from the Marketplace have access to the development alpha..... I was complaining about it in another threat...

AFAIK no devs outside of the marketplace have access.

REX does not sell on Marketplace yet they had access. REX dev himself confirmed as such. Now what do you got?

The Cargo load possible is the same in the EFB as the none ACT's .Should this be noted in the Simbrief profile that some of this space is also sharing fuel?

25459lbs (including ACT)

First and foremost it is their sim, and their decision to make.

Second I'd argue that they simply picked the better approach. The only discriminating factor was whether you were on the marketplace or not. It doesn't matter if you sell lots of units or not, if you are an awesome developer or not. It was the most objective choice that does not open oneself up to being called out on favoritism.

No. It's called using an objective deciding factor, which is the opposite of "favoritism."

What you're advocating is to allow people in based on subjective judgment, which is the very definition of favoritism and would only serve to tell people who don't get in "sorry buddy, we don't consider you good enough."

The only ones being "dramatic" here are those trying to pass this as some sort of Lèse-majesté and get outraged on behalf of a developer who isn't, in fact, outraged at all.

Chill.

Has anyone else had the aircraft folders missing from the community folder after the upgrade? Had to remove then re-add the packages in the installer.

Weird, maybe a fluke. Thx all.
