Totally agree.  nVidia FG and AutoFPS have infused improvements that have elevated 2020 significantly.  And addons are at an all time high in quality. Of note though is that I rarely fly a default aircraft model or fly into default 2020 airports.  Accumulating over for now over four years, the content and realism is clearly the highest in simulation history.

Nothing too extreme... Custom built 14700K / 4070 Ti Super in a nice quiet Fractal Silent XL case.

Nice to run at 60 fps on Ultra settings, instead of 30 fps on High.. 🙂

I'm at 1440p.  I could easily go 4k but there's no need at tht moment.  I only had space for a 32In monitor.

Feel when reporting performance, and particularity in regard to new systems and increase in performance that the res also be reported.  My performance at true 4K, FG, and AutoFPS, with specs below experience FPS from low 70's to high 90's and even 100+.  With my monitor anything over 60 FPS is gravy.

Tempted to try 1080 or 1440, but what difference will I perceive in visuals and smoothness.  I am on a 27" display.  I would consider larger but share my desk and monitor with more use-purposes. Am nearing age 76.  Perhaps I can convince my wife my vision is fading... but fortunately it is not. She is more than aware of my still excellent vision as I always pick up on the evening snacks she attempts to conceal... LOL  😅

If you haven't already you can bump up Render Scaling and it can make a very noticeable difference.  I don't use Frame Gen so use this 4090 to jack up Render Scaling and add more VRAM such that it's comparable to 5160x2160 and I've never seen sharper image quality it's just amazing.  And there is some modest lessening of workload on the CPU in not needing to prerender all those extra pixels for native 4K. I'm starting at 3440x native so I'm thinking you will notice even more of an improvement relatively speaking.

I also have a 1440p monitor. Have you tried this? In Nvidia Control Panel, Go to Manage 3d Setting, Global Settings Tab, DSR Factors and enable DL Scaling and enable 2.25DL. Then in your simulators set the resolution to 4k. Gives you a great picture with no hit.

helicopters thus creating 2 sims - one for tube pilots - (as an alternative to XP) - with 2020 and 2024 appealing

to all the GA pilots - in PC and "gamers" in X box

Yup, I agree with you there. The content and realism is highest in flight simulation history for MSFS.

2024 is a superset of 2020 effectively, and has various improvements in the areas of ground handling, flight dynamics, atmospheric lighting, clouds and weather, atmospheric airflow simulation (regular and wake turbulence), multi-threading and various more.. so 2024 is just as appealing and even more so than 2020 for airliners.

All the core sim focus areas that Seb starts showing and talking about here onwards https://youtu.be/fp4a3hPwP4s?t=962 at the global preview event is obviously also beneficial to tube simmers.

And just like with PCs where users of various types (whether Serious Simmer ™️or "gamer" or anything inbetween, hint: they're all gamers) use the sim, the same is true for XBox. This stereotyping of XBox and PC users is rather antiquated now 🙂
