Put the pitchfork away. This literally just happened. Ini has to do their due diligence and they’ve made a statement on their discord.

Also confirmed in another message, that even if they kick BMW off the platform, you will keep any products you bought from them, if anyone was actually worried about that.

Well based on that, I will personally never purchase a single product of BMW. Sounds like the typical modern day “I got caught doing something I wasn’t suppose to and now I’m gonna throw a fit and get ‘revenge’ instead of owning up to it and grow from it!” Zero respect for that kind of attitude.

Glad to see it backfire though and actually improve FB sales! 😂👌

Nicely said.

Here we go again guys! 😂  BMW/AMSIM have been a fantastic marketing tool for Flightbeam. Everytime they release the a product, we double our sales. It's clear they have some issue with us. I can take a guess why.. I've known this for a while but never thought it was relevant until now. On September 22, 2020 we banned a customer for sharing Flightbeam KPDX to a piracy website. That user was none other than BMW, aka Alexey Unishkov with an address in Russia. We have concrete evidence of this occuring and we never make a total ban decision lightly. At the time, it was not known who this individual even was. Since they got banned from Contrail, they were banned from all products on the network. I'm guessing that didn't sit well with him because here we are.
I have zero respect for this clown. Now you know why. I respect every other developer, even those who directly compete with us. But I do not respect the clowns from BMW/AMSIM, because I know they are dishonest, internet thieves who have a petty vendetta against Flightbeam.

Just like their previous dumpster-fire, half-baked releases, this changes nothing for us. We continue what we do best: quality, hand crafted scenery that our customers ask for.

Ouch. I had missed this part. This is crazy but not so surprising given how Alexey Unishkov/BMW behaved with his own customers. Not only did he break his promises, but he also ghosted us for months (I believe it was almost a year) refusing to deliver updates to the airports we had paid for, while at the same time selling them on various marketplaces. He ended up finally giving them, but the process was really badly handed, and via this partnership with Amsim he weaseled out of the deal "you pay me now and you'll get all of my future airports."

Yeah. This guy is never getting a dime from me anymore.

Not surprising as inibuilds has fallen big time from their height.

Unfortunately, it isn't only iniBuilds, so I wouldn't single them out. He sells in several places. I imagine the people who select the partnerships there don't know of his past, as what he did to his own customers IMHO should be enough to disqualify him.

Unfortunately, he did a fairly good job laundering his image by completely erasing his old website and with the Amsim partnership, but the internet remembers.

I don't particularly enjoy stirring trouble for developers, but I believe it's time for this kind of thing to surface, and then people will make their own mind.

KIAD by FB is outdated by modern standards

Oh, I completely agree.

All I would add is that from the product image gallery, I don't see a compelling reason for anyone to buy this from BMW/AmSim unless they are a KIAD afficionado.

The email address publicly listed on that website matches exactly the email address on file for the accounts involved in sharing our products with piracy websites. I’m sure the same emails FSDT and Contrail have discovered as well.

Just a word of advice to BMW. If you want to engage in criminal behavior, don’t use your main work email and distribute pirated work with your encrypted account info.

the irony there. That means he bought the products. He didn’t pirate them one place and upload them somewhere else

He gave you money when trying to undermine you.

Exactly.

I'm actually feeling bad because I have refrained from bringing up Unishkov's behavior with his past customers (me included) with the developers I know, which now I wish I had. Unfortunately, my dislike for pointing fingers at developers stayed my hand. Had I known he was also a pirate and not just a bit of a sketchy scammer, I'd have certainly mentioned my experience more vocally.

I'm shaking my head because it's hard to understand why anyone would buy an add-on for a sim, then share it. It's kind of evil in a way.

I'm not really surprised at this point. The way he treated his customers tells me he simply didn't care.

If needed, I have several emails from or including that specific address and also listing another address that he used to communicate actively with his customers when he was doing his sketchy "pay me once and get everything I do forever" business.

Too much drama beside the issue of placing other products on pirated sites.

As for their own products - for the lack of alternatives, their airports are pretty much ok. And I'm not out of my mind yet to write multiple requests for updates for existing products. FB KIAD, for example, is outdated. Guess how many requests did I write to Mir to update it? That's right - none, and I'm not planning to. When it happens, I will be more than happy to buy it.

Jetways in those airports are not static, they work very well as intended, just flew KSLC-KPHX yesterday. And I have not sent a single penny via PayPal for these jetways to work, beside a regular price of airport.
