It looks pretty good, but I can see some inconsistencies in the quality, which is typical of BMW.

I'm probably gonna pass on principle simply because this BMW + Amsim partnership exists exclusively to create an excuse for BMW not to deliver any of his new airports to his early adopters to whom he had promised all of his future airports in return of the payment of a lump sum.

While it didn't end up a bad deal, I don't appreciate weaseling out of explicit promises made to customers like that, so the dude ain't getting a dollar from me.

This is a very typical issue with BMW airports. I remember they used to write "fully compatible with FSLTL" in their feature list until someone from FSLTL yelled at them because "fully compatible" my rear.

BMW was a freeware dev. Then it became a member for life payware dev. After he took that away, the dev lost all credibility. After reading what Mir wrote, I now know the type of dev that we as a community is dealing with, and I want no part of it!

That user was none other than BMW, aka Alexey Unishkov with an address in Russia.

I didn't knew about this, although this name seemed to ring a bell...

So I searched in past emails for this name (his email looks like [email protected] so it's unlikely to be a homonym), and guess what, I found we also revoked all his licenses and banned him from purchasing anything else, because this guy also shared all our airport on various piracy sites.

Little he knew that when somebody installs our airports and activate their key, random files in the scenery are watermarked with email and IP address, and our installer even informs of that. They are obviously encrypted, so nobody could say his data was distributed in the open, nobody can decrypt that data except us and, sure enough, by decrypting the files downloaded a torrent, I could see he was the original sharer, since his data was there, after I ran the custom decryption software.

He was banned from Contrail in 2020 in a similar fashion. Files watermarked with his unique user ID linked to the [email protected] e-mail address. This was LatinVFR's KMIA shared across popular pirate sites.

Still in partnership with Orbx too.

Hopefully every distributor can shut this guy down. And everyone here should stop purchasing and supporting.

Let's call some of them 'acceptable'. But if there's an alternative product to BMW/AmSim scenery, I'm buying the alternative.

True. I knew that brand new SFO was in development by FB, so I didn't buy BMWA version. However, I don't see newer versions of KIAD, KMIA, KPHX around.

KIAD by FB is outdated by modern standards. Let's accept it.

It's not a problem with their sceneries, it's a problem with their ethics.

We now have 3 independent sources saying Alexy, the dev behind BMWorld has been banned from Contrail and FSDreamteam stores because they uploaded other devs work to pirate sites.

He pirated Flightbeam’s work by sharing it to the Pirate networks.  He did the same with LatinVFR’s KMIA.  As a result, he got banned from Contrail.  By doing this, he intentionally hurt these two devs, while releasing his own versions at the same time.  It’s a serious ethical issue.

I don't own any scenery from BMW but after reading this thread, count me on the list of custumers who will never buy a scenery from him.

Has this been public knowledge before this week? They may not have known.
