@Mace  I am using preset F and in the old version that gives me Ultra Quality in MSFS but with this version of DSLL it disappeared in the Sim even with preset F ☹️

Oh that's bad.  Then I must be mis-reading what they said.   Or it's a bug.

  • Just a general comment: Use the DLSS Swapper app. Makes the whole process painless.

  • I think it is up to individual game devs to decide if/when they will upgrade the game version of dlss. NVidia certainly would not be allowed to overwrite a game devs game files at will. They just make

  • I notice that people expect the blurred flat screens and 'fruit machine' effect on the tapes to be cured with each DLSS update, but while updates and tweaking settings might help a bit, the main issue

I think 2.8.0.
3.6.20 worked flawlessly, as well as DSR3 frame generation.

Yes, as it is stated, that F is for Ultra PERFORMANCE now, not ultra quality as with the version before. So, at the moment, there seems to be no way to have ultra quality in the sim.

Ryzen 9 7950X3D; MSI X670E; 48 GB DDR5 Ram; NVIDIA RTX 4080 Super 16 GB

So I have done a bit of testing, it a bit difficult to tell as you can't have them side by side but I'm not sure that the new version is any more blurry on Quality that the old one is on Ultra Quality. if it is , it is close.  I would be interested to hear what other think.

What does seem to affect it is changing the preset in Profile inspector.  Preset F in inspector on the new version seems to be less blurry that the others but I have been watching speed tapes for a bit too long now so I maybe imagining things now! 🙂

Folks I came across this post by chance - I never knew aything about this file - but I updated and the blurriness of moving stuff, like writing on EFIS intruments, seems to be greatly reduced. I had to go to TAA recently because this was unusable. Maybe it's placebo effect and I have to do so more flying with it, but I am very pleasantly surprised I must say. Are you folks not seeing any difference blurriness-wise?

A

Please excuse a couple of very basic questions regarding using Nividia Profile Inspector when trying to implement some of the above suggestions.

1. After making changes to the default MSFS profile, do I export the updated profile with a new name, or keep just Microsoft Flight Simulator? Or is it sufficient to just click on Apply Changes and there is no need to export the profile?
2. If I do need to export the updated profile, do I use Export Current Profile only, or Export Current Profile Including Predefined Settings? (I'm not sure what predefined settings they are talking about.)
3. Does the updated profile get "applied" to the sim automatically when the sim starts, or do I have to take some action?
Thanks,
Al

  1. It’s sufficient with apply changes
  2. export current profile is sufficient (useful as a backup of all settings in case they get cleared after a driver update)
  3. settings are active when you click apply changes (but if it’s done when sim is running, sim must be restarted for changes to take effect)

My sim "monitor" is a 4k TV with a 60Hz refresh rate. I updated to DLSS 3.8.1.0 and have made the Nividia Control Panel and Profile Inspector changes as suggested in another thread (using Preset F, 0.08 Native Render, etc). Are these settings still useful or appropriate if I use a 4K resolution of 3840x2160 instead of selecting a higher resolution like 5461x2880?
For the sim settings I have:
Anti-Aliasing = DLSS Super Resolution
DLSS Super Resolution = Quality
DLSS Frame Generation = On

Thanks,
Al

I have a triple monitor installation and it's frustrating that this only works with one screen.

I agree, it’s one of the contributing factors that’s preventing me from going down the road of a triple screen cockpit build. 😪

Pete @Peteb10 & Admiral @Cpt_Piett:  Below would seem to indicate that you can use Ultra Quality with Preset F (set via Nvidia Inspector I assume) --

TL;DR: NVIDIA's GeForce Game Ready Drivers version 566.14 introduces DLSS 3.8.10, which is over 50% smaller due to the removal of older presets, retaining only Preset E and Preset F. Preset E is now the default for Performance, Balanced, and Quality modes, while Preset F is for Ultra Performance and DLAA.

Am I mis-interpreting the above?

You mean 'Ultra performance'?

Yes -- they said ultra PERFORMANCE, I was getting ahead of myself there.
