Imaginesim WSSS 2024 Version Opinions?

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I've been looking at purchasing WSSS 2024 from Imaginesim and wanted to see if anyone had an opinion on it.  It is quite expensive and would be one of the most expensive airports I've ever purchased.  But I also want to support Imaginesim for releasing an updated airport for us P3D users.

How does the airport look and perform?  Any glaring issues with it and is it an improvement on their previous versions?  Did they model downtown Singapore in high fidelity?

Thanks

Hi Orman,

I have the v2024 airport (I upgraded from the v2023 version) and it works quite nicely. No major issues encountered when I have flown in and out of there with the iFly 737 Max. Its pretty smooth when running with approx 45-50% AIG traffic.
As the product description mentions the new 02C/20C is re-enabled which was previously not depicted in the v2023 version. I did not see a tremendous difference in quality though.

In terms of price, yes it is expensive. I would probably hold on for a week or so and see if there's any Thanksgiving or Black Friday sale that Imaginesim may participate in just to save a few $$.

In summary, worth getting but if you can find a sale, that will be a little less painful.

Thanks for your detailed feedback.  I could hold out to see if they run any sort of promo next week, but I don't remember Imaginesim ever doing that.

Never any promo with these guys. A lot of devs offer discounts, if only for black friday or X-Mas.

I have been monitoring the price in a long time and no change.

A bit expensive indeed...is it worth it? Some people have mentioned the layout isn't even correct...?

I still haven’t purchased it.  I don’t think they’ve ever done a sale either.

Id like to support them since they support us P3d users, but $33 is a lot…

Just get it unless you want to save the money or put it toward something else. It is a very good looking scenery and performs very well on my ageing PC.

You'll find lots of excuses to fly to WSSS. I like the fact it puts lots of ships in the harbour like the real WSSS.

One of my favourite sceneries.

From the little I know (reading charts / google earth spotting), the operating runways / taxiways / navaids are substantially complete / correct for the next 4 years until T5 is opened.

In the meantime, pavements east of 02C/20C about T5 will be built but only used for connections to the airbase which is using 02R/20L.

So till 2028/9, departures mostly the centre runway, arrivals mostly the west runway.

for now, cheers
