Imaginesim WSSS 2024 Version Opinions?

Featured Replies

Hello,

I've been looking at purchasing WSSS 2024 from Imaginesim and wanted to see if anyone had an opinion on it.  It is quite expensive and would be one of the most expensive airports I've ever purchased.  But I also want to support Imaginesim for releasing an updated airport for us P3D users.

How does the airport look and perform?  Any glaring issues with it and is it an improvement on their previous versions?  Did they model downtown Singapore in high fidelity?

Thanks

Orman

Hi Orman,

I have the v2024 airport (I upgraded from the v2023 version) and it works quite nicely. No major issues encountered when I have flown in and out of there with the iFly 737 Max. Its pretty smooth when running with approx 45-50% AIG traffic.
As the product description mentions the new 02C/20C is re-enabled which was previously not depicted in the v2023 version. I did not see a tremendous difference in quality though.

In terms of price, yes it is expensive. I would probably hold on for a week or so and see if there's any Thanksgiving or Black Friday sale that Imaginesim may participate in just to save a few $$.

In summary, worth getting but if you can find a sale, that will be a little less painful.

Thanks for your detailed feedback.  I could hold out to see if they run any sort of promo next week, but I don't remember Imaginesim ever doing that.

  • 1 month later...

Never any promo with these guys. A lot of devs offer discounts, if only for black friday or X-Mas.

I have been monitoring the price in a long time and no change.

A bit expensive indeed...is it worth it? Some people have mentioned the layout isn't even correct...?

I still haven’t purchased it.  I don’t think they’ve ever done a sale either.

Id like to support them since they support us P3d users, but $33 is a lot…

Just get it unless you want to save the money or put it toward something else. It is a very good looking scenery and performs very well on my ageing PC.

You'll find lots of excuses to fly to WSSS. I like the fact it puts lots of ships in the harbour like the real WSSS.

One of my favourite sceneries.

From the little I know (reading charts / google earth spotting), the operating runways / taxiways / navaids are substantially complete / correct for the next 4 years until T5 is opened.

In the meantime, pavements east of 02C/20C about T5 will be built but only used for connections to the airbase which is using 02R/20L.

So till 2028/9, departures mostly the centre runway, arrivals mostly the west runway.

for now, cheers

Sorry to reactivate this thread... I said I would give my feedback, but I could not do it since I was "in discussion" with support.

All in all, I am hugely disappointed with this scenery and I would not recommend it. Fair enough, the various terminals, etc...are looking fine, but the scenery is full of bugs. It is not worth the 26 GBP.

Like always, the developer tries to b*llsh*t and put the blame on the customer, even when you tell them there is definitely a problem from their side (I know a thing or two about sceneries). The customer is not a beta tester... I guess that's the way things are nowadays.

Buyer beware.

Why not list them? It will strengthen your claim. I have this scenery for P3Dv5 and it looks fine. The only issue I found was the control tower had an altitude of 0ft. Fortunately with ADE I was able to correct that.

Sorry to hear this scenery doesn’t work.  To ray’s point, what doesn’t work correctly?

I have the WSSS scenery (older version) for years now and of course i am not there every day and look for bugs but I haven't seen full of bugs. @fnav77 your dissappointment sounds like something got wrong with installation at least. There are a lot of options to consider for this airport if you have samscene city scenery or ai boat traffic. I reworked the afcad but did not publish it so far, think because I did not go for the latest scenery.

What issues are you having?  I haven't noticed any problems and fly in there quite regularly?

Years and years ago I had some elevation issue, but that was a different version and their support was helpful in fixing the problem.

Sounds like it was user error after all. Its a shame he didn't have the decency to come back and acknowledge this after maligning a perfectly good and high-quality scenery.

I had issues with trees on taxiways, dirt effect on aprons and taxiways, ILS DME bug, AFCAD and layout issues..... I fixed them all myself, which proves that the problems come from the scenery, not my PC or my setup.

However, if I had listened to support, I would have uninstalled and reinstalled the scenery "50" times, maybe do the same with P3D and change my PC for good measure. None of that was necessary. Just the files which are "buggy" and need corrected. That is where I have a problem! I should not be misled to believe there is a problem on my side when it is ABSOLUTELY not the case.

I am not here to badmouth the scenery, but to share my feedback. As I said on my last post, there are some nice things too, and now that I fixed the bugs, I am looking forward to enjoying the scenery.
