November 23, 20241 yr Quite impressive video. 10 minutes ago, micstatic said: It seems like the piston VFR type are jaw drop thrilled, and the IFR airline type are very disappointed. Obviously with some deviations. I wonder if we forget how bad 2020 was in the first weeks! And wasn't it the same, VFR came into place well before 2020 was IFR ready. For me I am principally a general aviation pilot who occasionally dabbles in airliners so for me I am happy with the wonderful 172. MSFS 2024. Primary Planes: Black Square TBM850, Duke, Baron, Caravan; A2A Comanche; FSReborn Phenom; Fexix A321; PMDG 737-7, 777: Utilities: Active Sky (Passive Mode); BATC, FSLTL.

To me 2024 shows me what she sees: everything is nicer and like she says around the 9 minute mark, the lighting. Things look more real. Of course this is the type of low down travel where scenery becomes more important and shows off 2024 to better advantage. That looks incredible, terrain/trees/etc, this biome for the Mexico area looks right to me at least.. and the new photometric atmospheric lighting in the sim is spot on to IRL. November 23, 20241 yr Wake me up to follow on the 2024 love train when the Maddog X and the Fenix A320 series are compatible with it, when I can download my scenery airports and my aircraft on my hardrives I paid money for, all that other nonsense don't matter to me. IMO and people will not like my post but MSFS 2024 right now is a "word not allowed" joke to me that I can't even take it seriously. 2020 for a while for me or I am going fishing.

You’ll spawn out or in cockpit, cold and dark, without any preflight items required. The second and third on your list will probably come when the market place opens. Servers are getting better each day since launch. I don’t know what community folder issue is… But, there you go see you in 2024 soon! 😘 Thanks. I prefer the old fashioned way though of just going straight to a parking spot.

Yeah .. no. not this time. Enjoy the new sim. I will get around to installing it but as it stands with improved flight dynamics aside for me this sim is only suitable for GA. I am only speaking for and suiting myself as a 98% tubeliner flyer though so i am in no way trying to convince you or anyone to do otherwise. Walkarounds are done when the airplane is started on the parking lot or terminal, and you sit in the running cockpit with running engines when you start on a runway. 🙂 Maybe I’m asking too much but I don’t want any walkarounds. I saw someone today flying without any speed indicators because he forgot to take covers of pitot. I assume he started the engines before flying..

So, everyone claims to want it “as real as it gets” until it doesn’t suit them. Simmers rave about preflight checks in the A2A Comanche, but when applied globally it’s an issue. And, as I pointed out earlier, by-passing the pre-flight already is an option. Can’t please everyone, I suppose. Edited November 24, 20241 yr by Los

This is based on the average lead time to deal with bugs in msfs 2020, the amount of issues introduced in 2024 (and some are not glitches but actually design decisions) and the habit of creating new ones when solving another. You have absolutely no idea how long it will take. People should stop putting a timeline on fixing this or that. You have no idea how long it will take and that will differ for many people. Right now I consider my installation of 2024 to be very usable. I have no idea but the most pressing issues will probably be addressed first.

I actually think that is the best attitude to have right now. If your principal focus is tubeliners, stay with 2020 for now, keep an eye on 2024, but it is not quite ready for that yet. Navigraph is just getting beta compatibility there is a lot to figure out and refine for that kind of complex IFR flying. PMDG, FENIX, Maddog, etc. all have said they need time to get their aircraft compatible and into the sim properly. The process of them doing that will likely help correct and refine things. I really think it will be a great platform for GA and heavies, but it is going to take some time. Hopefully not as long as 2020 took! MSFS 2024. Or bright blue taxi lights 10x the size they are supposed to be? I haven't seen any of that (yet). But TBH I'm only flying between a few "local" airports that are less than 150 mi apart while I try on all the new Defaults for size. The "strangest" thing I've seen with AI traffic is the default manufacturers house livery, which I think is kinda neat, esp since the traffic type is easily recognizable, too. Even lesser known airliners like B717 are showing up correctly for me. Also haven't loaded any 3rd Party Airports, so perhaps that's where the issues reside...?
