This really sucks... Just got notified that my crystal light is shipped out, should receive it next week. Really crossing my fingers. If I experience anything like this youtuber did, I'll certainly not buy a Pimax for a long while. 

Dam! I thought this was a must buy to replace my Reverb G2. So what is the go to VR headset now?

Really can't go wrong with a Quest 3.

If Meta makes a PCVR version of Quest 3 with direct video input, that would be my instant buy. Everything of Q3 is nearly perfect at its price point, the only thing ruins it is that it's streaming only. What a pity. 

Really don't know any other headsets would be good replacement for G2.

Meganex8k sounds like a dream shot, but it could as well be too good to be true. Have to wait for real world reviews. It has no inside out tracking, but it is really as good as it claims, I'm willing to swallow the cost of additional tracking stations...

Out of all the positive reviews both here and on the internet (including this being the official headset chosen by Microsoft), the world is coming to an end with Pimax because of one user who had a support problem...🫤  Read what I wrote below his post.😑  

The Crystal Light (not this guy's original Crystal) is the best headset you can get for the money ($800) period.  It is the replacement for the G2.

It is...  When you receive it you'll need to dial back what you had set for the G2 in FS2020 (2024 needs a few more updates) and tune it from there.  None of these headsets are plug and play but once you get them dialed in (especially the CL) their amazing.  Read the various threads here to get your questions answered.  Here was my journey and as of now my headset runs amazingly well and looks like the 2D monitor.

This is one guys bad experience.  Totally not what the rest of us have experienced here on these forums and by Microsoft itself.  With the latest Pimax updates to the firmware/software the Crystal Light can't be beat for it's price range.  I can't speak on support but for $800 I'd just by another headset if mine dies.

I assume Pimax would not treat Microsoft "hhmmm, anybody here in tech support ever heard of this customer "some microsoft" that sent us an email and claims he got a defective headset ...?"  😀 I doubt they would treat Microsoft or any of their favorite youtube influencers as shabby as they did with that youtube reviewer like "sorry, too late, your Pimax is out of warranty" 😀 after they kept him waiting for months and made frequent false promises. there are more complaints about Pimax quality control and lackluster customer support, not just this reviewer alone.  I don't trust paid reviewers who receive hand selected free samples and special priority treatment, no not a bit. I will wait for customer reviews of the japanese built MeganeX before I will make a decision and before purchasing from this chinese company Pimax.

Many of your points I actually agree with but some of us here are happy customers of Pimax's Crystal Light.  It's such a good headset that the best I can do after hearing some of these support issues is buy another headset for $800 if/when mine goes bad.  The elephant in the room is there's not another headset for this price point that can beat the Crystal Light.  It's laughable every time I hear the 'Quest3' mentioned.  Apple's offering is lackluster as well.  Microsoft killing Mixed Reality and the Reverb killed options in the VR world at this time.  Pimax may not be perfect and their support might flat out suck but I challenge you to find a better headset.  If you never had it it's hard to know what I'm talking about.  After trying a few myself we're talking a comparison akin to FSX versus MS2024 in visual quality.  The Crystal Light on it's worst day is leaps and bounds over it's current competitors. 😎

As they say a fool and his money...🤪 I'll take my almost 4k visuals all the way out in the distance over grainy low resolution outside of the cockpit options some are speaking about here.😉 

I hope Pimax get their support together that 'some' are reporting about and/or we get a serious alternative at a similar price point.

I wondered who would be daring enough to post the pimax video. It's a lot like our experience with winwing. This might just be a chinese business culture thing.
