they do stuff in the background. just realized all my MS Store purchases are not tagged Streamed anymore but Not installed. just checked EDDM and seems fine now as the Simwings version seen below had incorrect LOD/object placement, especially the taxiway bridges over the road were elevated before and could not be crossed. now all fine

This answers another question I had about whether this would be enabled in marketplace or My Library and I now see the My Library tab.

Do both Marketplace and My Library point to your community folder?  Can you separate them and would there even be a need to or is everything in marketplace streamed unless you put it in your library?

Thanks for the update, this is a significant feature, just trying to better understand the two as we only had the Marketplace/Community in 2020.    Glad I cleared my 1TB M.2 drive!

Be real. Hyperbole, IMO, only makes valid criticism be shunned as “whining”.

Indeed, when it is hyperbole. In this case it is realism. I refer to the facts.

Not perhaps. For 2024 they are. Though we will get an option to still physically download at least purchases. That big harddrive purchase must have been good for something. And I still believe that my arport addons load faster and their Quality is not „bandwidth“ related once they sit neatly on my PC

Let's just hope that installing addons locally doesn't increase sim loading times. I mean, it shouldn't really matter wether the files are being streamed from the hard drive or from the cloud.

Sorry for the thread drift, but how have you achieved this?

When I tried my 380 sank into the ground to its engines with no nose gear.

I just flew it the same as i would in 2020. The only slight niggle i noticed was the EFB slow to respond, usually taking a couple of presses to open doors, cargo holds etc. But one bonus for the sim being streamed possibly means there's extra processing power in our systems. In MSFS2020, it was always borderline, and some stuttering at times.

Well not sure about the initial loading time may or may not become longer with addon physically installed but would definitely expect that my m.2 drive can load a flytampa, orbx, inibuilds or any other 3rd party scenery faster than my 100mbit connection. But we will see…

Not sure. Or better no idea. Just know as of today that there are these 3 folders now, community, fs2020 and fs2024 which seemingly can hold respective content. The latter 2 are empty, probably until they enable the marketplace. And in community i have just the Fenix and FBW for now to fly with

Thanks for your reply, my question wasn't quite clear.

I placed it in my 24 Community folder and after loading it sank up to its engines.

Did you follow any additional steps to move it over?

Same here with the A320. Worked 2 or 3 dev builds before but not since the recent one I downloaded some 10 hours ago. Could be a build issue unless @Simselli also uses the latest build and still works for him?

No, it was the latest build as well. Is sinking up to it's wheels not an issue with the airport? The only thing i am thinking is was it an airfield that was not yet a compatible addon? Otherwise i don't have a clue. I was fully expecting some real issues, and was surprised just how good it was. It still seemed to rotate early, and climb performance is probably more like a 757 on steroids.

They disabled all 2020 marketplace addons that are scenery/utility (I think just aircraft are still showing).

Things seem to be running a lot better now!

They must have thought that all 2020 addon scenery would be compatible with 2024, and that nobody had duplicate addon airports that would conflict. I have two or three airport addons that I ended up not liking and got replacements.
