FWIW around NYC at 44fps

I don't understand it at all. My system (770 @5ghz 32G ram 3090GPU) is considered low end by ms2024. I had been planning to get a new system. but not if my results continue.

MS2024 told me low end but I switched everything to ultra (except bloom) - I am running DLSS 3.7 and frame generation with nvidia driver 566.14  I have a 4K monitor upscaled to 5120. Running AS Weather

Took off from KLGA in the TBM and flew over JFK and up and down Manhattan at 1500ft.  Using windows game bar, my FPS was pegged between 40-44fps - smooth as silk.  In settings I have Dynamic on set to 30FPS, which was the default,

I have about 15 items in Community - a few FBeam airports, navigraph stuff and a few aircraft.

So, I don't know why I get good results but it really means that those of us with lesser systems can still get great results

YMMV

If FS2024 is anything like FS2020, then I am not surprised. My own PC (see signature) runs FS2020 astonishingly well at reasonably high detail levels, and with a huge AIG AI database active @ 100%!

Unfortunately, in MSFS2024, I have only 22-33(max) fps with TBM, C172, or C208 Adobo a/c, no matter where I fly. Shouldn't it be better with my configuration (see signature)?

The OP is using the frame generation "hack" for their 3090 in MSFS 2024 to get those FPS.  Officially, the 3090 does not support frame generation. In fact, none of the Nvidia 2xxx or 3xxx officially support frame generation.

It's worth noting that I do not use any kind of FG software, and I am not even sure that I could with my ten year old system specification.

I've been reading a lot about this... I own a 3060Ti and have MSFS2024 running pretty good with settings at Medium and High but hey... Ultra would be better of course LOL. I am curious if things could become even better on my PC with that DLSS and FG stuff. Perhaps it's time to dive into that. Any good (recent) guides around?

I have an official G-Sync monitor: would that be a problem?

I run w10 and you run w11. Wonder if that makes a difference. I would think, with your specs you could easily outperform my system.

An old friend who has since passed, NickN, used to stress that  getting the right balance between all your parts was key to performance, perhaps I got lucky.

I remember NickN and his FSX bible, and I learned a lot from him and all those vital discussions. I have now tried Lossless Scaling (2.12.1 with LSFG 2.3 mod x2), which now gives me 55-60 fps with barely noticeable graphical issues when panning in the outside view.

The world needs people like NickN. (Him along with John Lennon and Steve Jobs).  I wonder what NickN would have thought of MSFS 2020 and 2024.

Hardware: i7-8700k, GTX 1070-ti, 32GB ram, NVMe/SSD drives with lots of free space.
Software: latest Windows 10 Pro, P3Dv4.5+, FSX Steam, and lots of addons (100+ mostly Orbx stuff).

Can this frame generation "hack" be used with any nvidia card? Where can I find this hack?

Today, spending $1500 on a video card is common. 😀

Thankfully, almost everything else we need to build a balanced system, is now more affordable.

No, as far as I know, only the NVidia 2xxx or 3xxx series. I think it doesn't work for the NVidia 1xxx series.

And no, I don't know where to find it. I just read about it. There are threads about it here at Avsim though:

But note that frame generation is not officially supported by NVidia for the 2xxx and 3xxx cards. I have no idea what this "hack" does, and whether it will damage your card or cause other problems.

i5-12400, RTX 3060 Ti, 32 GB RAM

It will do no such thing.

The 20 and 30 series cards are in fact RTX cards, and are physically capable of frame gen. In this case "officially supported" is Nvidia's way of saying we want your money, so buy a 40 series card. Greed plain and simple. I have been using it since the mod was released. No issues whatsoever. Besides, your card has hardware built-in fail safes if that is your concern.

This mod simply circumvents the driver from denying your earlier 20 or 30 series cards for using frame gen. To take it even further, this mod derives from the official AMD FSR3 released method of frame gen which is available to ALL graphics cards, as released by AMD. And is open source by AMD. See here:

https://github.com/GPUOpen-LibrariesAndSDKs/FidelityFX-SDK/releases/

It officially supports ALL cards. What THIS mod does in MSFS, is trick the nvidia driver to 1) ignore the check to see if the card is a 40 series card 2) Trick the driver to enable the use of Nvidia frame gen in any game that officially supports Nvidia frame gen.

Let me put it another way, And this is on MS and Asobo.

Had MS and asobo officially implemented AMD FSR 3 frame gen in the sims, then this mod would not be needed. ANY and ALL cards would be frame gen capable in the sim OFFICIALLY. EDIT: That being said, any cards earlier than -say a 1080ti or Titan X pascal or XP, are going to struggle, as they don't have the "horsepower" so to speak.

I hope this sheds some light.

There's your main problem right there.

Why would you be running anything other than 4k, on a 4k monitor?
