December 14, 20241 yr I get this sometimes when I'm trying to assign a button or switch with an assignment. The sim recognizes the switch, but then gives me the message "scan cancelled" and won't take the assignment. https://www.mediafire.com/view/dz3buh31pti9cej/BoeingDriverSignature.jpg/file

It obviously recognizes the input but won't save it. https://www.mediafire.com/view/dz3buh31pti9cej/BoeingDriverSignature.jpg/file
December 14, 20241 yr Make sure you don't move the mouse pointer out of the assignment box before you press the button you're trying to assign.

December 14, 20241 yr Author This is contrary to what I've seen before with different controllers (I'm currently having an issue with the Honeycomb throttle quadrant). Which is to say I left click in the box, manipulate the lever on the controller, and it recognizes the input and I move the mouse over to save the selection. The problem I'm having is that it won't let me save it. Instead, it cancels the scan once I move the mouse to try and save it. https://www.mediafire.com/view/dz3buh31pti9cej/BoeingDriverSignature.jpg/file

Where do you move the mouse? I don't believe you need to do anything special to save, once it detects the input within the allotted amount of time it will stick. Obviously, you need to click the save and escape option to close out of the control assignment section or use the keyboard to close out of the section. Do you have a gamepad or any device that is really sensitive? If you try and make a change on the throttle quadrant, but the sim sees input from your rudder pedals because they need a dead zone, I think this may cause it to cancel the scan. I've also had issues if I am trying to set a digital assignment to a button, but then accidentally bump the yoke, since it seems to cancel out because it's seeing an incompatible analog movement for what should be a digital control. Similarly, if it sees multiple analog movements, it will cancel out. It may be worth testing outside of the sim if moving one lever on the throttle quadrant causes any noise in any other lever axis, in which case you'd need a slight dead zone for the other axis. Hope that makes sense! I don't think anyone really knows the quirks of assignment process yet, and there are obviously bugs as well (sometimes when switching aircraft, it loses the control selection, and I just need to go back to verify the profile and click save and it starts working without doing anything else).

When I move the mouse to hit 'close and save', the scan is cancelled. I've had success with my other controllers, but the Honeycomb Bravo unit seems a bit quirky. Btw, so far as I know, no other axises are conflicting with the controller. https://www.mediafire.com/view/dz3buh31pti9cej/BoeingDriverSignature.jpg/file
December 14, 20241 yr Yep.. I had the same issue trying to assign the parking brake to the alpha yoke switch. Recognises the input, but when I move the mouse to move onto the next button assignment I get scan cancelled. December 15, 20241 yr Author --RESOLVED-- Okay, it turns out (at least in this case) that rocker switches map a little differently than other buttons and switches. One need to press the switch first for the mapping, then switch it back for the sim to be able to save it. Work great now! 🐵 https://www.mediafire.com/view/dz3buh31pti9cej/BoeingDriverSignature.jpg/file
