December 16, 20241 yr So after the latest patch I attempted another flight in the Fenix. I still had issues with the toolbar not loading correctly, laggy mouse performance and terrible TAA performance (settled for DLSS Performance preset F as recommended but still a blurry mess Vs TAA). Fair to say at this point Asobo really don't care for VR and better to remain on 2020 for the foreseeable? Soooo frustrating that we've gone backwards after 4 years...
December 16, 20241 yr Well none of the main 3 VR issues were fixed, the performance has gone backwards since Patch 3 so...yep, still fundamentally broken in many aspects. I keep trying again and again to have a decent flight but it's nowhere near MSFS2020 levels yet for me, as there's always some issue going on that just ruins it for me and I end up quitting. Other people are having success, but others are also struggling (see official forums). Finally yes, I think this release with it's VR issues alone shows a total disrespect for us from MS/Asobo and namely Martial who has shown in the past he doesn't give a word not allowed about VR users. They got it "working" 4 years ago and left it at that, they have zero interest in VR. December 16, 20241 yr Since the last update, all I get is a black screen when activating VR in 2024 using the Quest 3 + Virtual Desktop. Previously I would get the black square and get rid of it by getting in/out of the main menu, but now just a black screen. Disable HDR in WIndows and in the flightsim.

December 17, 20241 yr Yes, VR is still broken. One of the worst bugs is autogen lights being visible in one eye and not the other, plus the black lines. https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/blurry-lights-and-black-lines/676295 I guess bugs need to be voted on, otherwise they do not get fixed. December 17, 20241 yr there's a bunch of stuff that is different in one eye that I come across during flight - trees, airport lights, reflections and shadows.

December 20, 20241 yr You guys running Virtual Desktop with black screens know about this right? I had the same problem when my system "upgraded" to 24H2. From the VD Discord: Windows 11 24H2 - H.264/H.264+ There are 2 known issues with H.264/H.264+ on the latest update of Windows 11. Streaming the desktop with H.264/H.264+ will sometimes fail and fallback to HEVC. Streaming PCVR games with H.264+ at high bitrates (> 287 Mbps) with SSW set to Always will cause a black screen. Workaround: set SSW to Auto or use a different codec or lower bitrate.
