January 8, 20251 yr Sorry for such a strange question, but I really don't have a good understanding of this parameter works. Is it like a vacuum cleaner bag, that you need to empty from time to time, or the system (data) gets clogged? How often should it be cleared? https://www.mediafire.com/view/dz3buh31pti9cej/BoeingDriverSignature.jpg/file
January 8, 20251 yr I set it to 64GB and never clean it. I also moved it from the default C : (system) partition to my F: (simulator) partition. I notice that the amount of downloaded content when I go flying over areas I've been flying lately, provided it is not a huge area, is reduced when I go flying again over the same places. No, it is like a temporary storage facility that stores frequently used items.. maybe like your fridge at home. Instead of going to the supermarket for a glass of milk, you get it from the fridge.. This is not a perfect analogy, since the cache will discard items that you have not used in a while, which the typical refrigerator does not do without your personal intervention. 😊 Bert

Cache, in computer terms, means storing data that can be accessed over and over again, to save data retrieval time. The rolling cache for MSFS stores the terrain and photogrammetry data you have downloaded from the servers, so that you don’t have to download it again (until the rolling cache is filled, in which case it “rolls” over). January 9, 20251 yr If you want an in-depth knowledge of how the rolling cache works in MSFS2024, when it is effective, and what its shortcomings are (unfortunately significant), I recommend this thread on the MSFS forums, but beware it is very technical: RollingCache.ccc performance debugging and tuning … How? - User Support Hub / Install, Performance & Graphics - Microsoft Flight Simulator Forums CPU Ryzen 5800X3D RAM 64GB DDR4 3200MHz GPU RTX 5070 Ti (16 GB VRAM) Display 38" LG OS Windows 11

Hopefully another area of improvement coming at some point.
