Review of 2024 2 months after launch.

Yes, that's a very good and meaningful argument.

I still remeber a YT review recently where the reviewer stressed out the "fact" that when you pan around e.g. inside the cockpit, every single view change must be streamed onto the screen again and again. Otherwise the user couldn't see the scenery from different angles.

This is what happens when you have to compromise the quality because of the memory limitations on console. Many of us PC users have half VRAM and RAM empty and have to reload the same assets again and again as we rotate the view.

With FS2024 this has been brought to the extreme, since all the assets are streamed from the internet instead of being loaded from the SSD. You can see this very well if you use the FSLTL injector with its aircraft models: once loaded they stay in their parking spots and don't appear and disappear in front of you as you rotate the view, don't have missing wheels, wings or fuselages like FS2024 AI aircraft do.

No no no no. This has nothing to do with streaming. If you rotate your view and everything you then see would have to be streamed first (and then rendered) you would have a terrible lag and very low fps and probably you wouldn't even see a single thing.

Wrong. Streaming doesn't mean everything is loaded into the PC's RAM: it means everything is loaded to your SSD. MSFS2024 still reads the data and renders it off your SSD. The visual problems you describe may have to do with the rendering and your computer's (lack of) speed but certainly NOT with the streaming.

To me THIS information was a huge bummer and one of the main reasons why I'm still omitting a purchase of MS2024; allthough I can't confirm this information because I'm no MSFS expert by all means.

But to me it sounds comprehensible.

This is a very good example of a youtuber not having the slightest clue of what he is talking about. If this was your reason not to try 2024, you are the victim of severe misinformation.

Half of the internet is talking out of its *rse. And that's probably a conservative estimate.

Ryzen 9 7900X, Corsair H150 AIO cooler, 64 Gb DDR5, Asus X670E Hero m/b, 3090ti, 13Tb NVMe, 8Tb SSD, 16Tb HD, 55" Philips 4k HDR monitor, EVGA 1600w ps, all in Corsair 7000D airflow case. Sims in use - 2020, 2024, XP-12 and -11, FSX/SE, P3Dv4.5 and v5.4. DCS and AFS2 installed but rarely used

Thanks guys for all your expertise and profound answers. But now I'm confused again because of the different answers and point of views, which all sound reasonable to me; highly appreciated 🙂.

But besides of the topic itself, I think there lies a lot of truth in the quintessence of the whole MSFS2024 "issues":

The techniques and the whole programm has become so inherently complex overbrim, that many people MUST get confused . And finding enduring solutions for software engineers regarding all the fixes which have to be done will become more and more difficult in the future.

KISS is still a fundamental and valid principle among skilled engineers and scientists; MSFS2024 has gone far beyond of this.

Keep It Simple Stupid ☺️.

Lack of speed? Did you check my signature?

How do you explain that the default AI aircraft do the weirdest things whereas FSLTL models stay once loaded?

I have no clue. I don't have that problem. Perhaps it's an FSLTL-induced problem? I use BATC with AIG and have Airport traffic enabled and not a single plane is doing weird things. But one thing is for certain: it has nothing to do with streaming. Once MSFS2024 has streamed something to your computer and put it on your SSD it remains there to be used again if needed during the remainder of the flight. MSFS2024 does NOT stream an assett again and again and again to your PC each and every time you LOOK at it. It simply doesn't work that way.

What does FSLTL have to do with that? The tests with FS2024 AI traffic have been done with FSLTL completely removed. When FSLTL injector + models are used, the issue does NOT occur.

Obviously you don't have the issue, because you use two addons for traffic 😄 How could FS2024 stream your AIG models?

It doesn't, it only uses its own models: with MSFS2024 Airport traffic at High you get to see all kinds of GA and airliners from MSFS2024 itself. They only don't move. But all those static planes look great (as far as possible with default models, haha!).

But anyway, I misunderstood your post and presumed you were using FSLTL somehow together with MSFSF2024 traffic. From the few times I actually did use default (moving) traffic I can't recall having seen weird things happening concerning parts missing etc.

But regardless: the fact remains that MSFS2024 does not stream everything you look at again and again and again. That's what I was saying. The current state of default traffic is an entirely different subject. 😉

Complete and utter nonsense. Seriously, this YT'er (and many others) should be banned for life for spreading and false information.

You realize if you banned everyone who spread false information on the Internet there wouldn't be much left to read 😂

Because they said things that weren't true about MSFS 2024 they should be banned for life!!!!  In fact chop off their heads and put them on a stake outside the castle!!!   Don't forget to jump down their throats before you do it!!

Isn't it ironic the same people who complained about others calling for ramifications from the botched launch subsequently think people should be banned from YouTube for their commentary...

Seems like some only tolerate that which does agree with me!

You don't really think that I would want to actually ban someone from YT...? It's a matter of speech, a way to make my point. But perhaps the fact that English isn't my native language prevents me from understanding the finer or correct meaning of certain words. Anyway, it wasn't meant as harsh as you take it. 😉

This must be some kind of a joke post and can not be taken seriously. Enjoy your 2024 and all the buggy software that comes with it as not all of us are flying casual G.A. flying. FS 2020 took 2+ years to be considered a serious sim and MS2024 will take the same time but it looks pretty though when the servers work

.

I think you need to take a break from these forums....  Maybe take up a new hobby for a few months?  Literally every post you make has you whining about the fact that people enjoy 2024, and how only serious simmers use P3D - the best minecraft looking sim in the history of all sims.
