January 15, 20251 yr Author Not quite following. Which sim? MSFS or Aerofly and how so? This ain’t Aerofly’s first time at the plate. This is version 4 of their sim I believe. Regardless, I don’t VR so no real attraction to me other than I collect flight simulators, but in this case I will pass -B
January 15, 20251 yr Aerofly FS4 (and FS2 and FS3) were native VR apps. They would be my go to sims if not for MSFS. For a year before MSFS 2020 came out, even Orbx was making lots of addon for Aerofly, because it was a premium app. FPS and smoothness in Aerofly is way above MSFS 2020 or 2024 in VR. Because the VR is native to the sim and it is not in MSFS. I have a friend that worked on Aerofly, and it originally was not in VR and he had to do some convincing to get them to implement it. He also did a lot of work towards getting the VR hands up and running. Ironic that they were apparently kind of dubious about it originally, and now it's one of the main selling points. January 15, 20251 yr As far as I know, Aerofly has always been the best sim for VR flying. January 15, 20251 yr I played FS2 for a bit on VR but ultimately ended up refunding it on Steam because while it was fun, the limited territory and fidelity of the aircraft weren’t what I was looking for. However, having the kind of photoreal ground scenery it had well before MSFS was even a thought was pretty awesome.
