The ILS glide slope was like a roller coaster, above, then below then above the GS. Not what I am used to. In your next post you say "disregard"; did you fix this issue or figure out what caused it? That's one I've not heard of before, and the position of the knobs on your efis control panel would not seem to indicate you should be in the expanded approach mode. I was going to guess a keybind issue of some sort? If you figured it out, let me know and I'll pass it along. Andrew Crowley

There is nothing in the manual that addresses this issue, despite all the "manual experts" telling me I should study the manual, probably because they don't know how to fix it either. The other issue that bothered me on the approach, from about 1500 AGL down, was the roller coaster above and below the glideslope, almost like phugoid oscillations with the airspeed rising and lowering in step with the vertical deviations. I finally just disconnected the AP and AT and hand flew the rest of the approach. No gusty winds, or weather issues at the time. Edited January 28, 20251 yr by Bobsk8

You were no help, you didn't have a clue as to how to fix the problem, so you just kept saying RTM. If the solution is in the manual, tell me exactly where I can find it. That's helpful. I bet you will never respond to that question. Edited January 28, 20251 yr by Bobsk8

Also, I am older than middle school so your “I bet you will never respond to that question” bit is just amusing. Learn for yourself or don’t, either way I don’t care 🤷♀️ 9800X3d, 4090, 64 GB DDR5 6000 RAM, 4 TB NVME (2x2), 4K Ultra + Framegen

I’m sorry that this devolved into an antagonistic thread. My genuine apologies - I shouldn’t have talked condescendingly to you. We are all flight sim enthusiasts and I feel bad that I reacted mockingly. I’m sorry, and I hope you do get to know this plane better and enjoy it. I think you’ll love it. January 28, 20251 yr For me it flies great, but my issue is getting it loaded per Simbrief is a hassle. Wish the tablet could just load the fuel/ZFW from the simbrief flight plan in one click. I dont want to have to determine how many #s of bags need to be in each cargo bay to meet the ZFW while staying within a reasonable CG. Edited January 28, 20251 yr by nrunning24 Nick Running

The EFB is a jumble of menus, whereas the PMDG is beyond simple. The autothrottle is the worst of any aircraft I have ever flown in a sim. I had an overspeed at cruise at FL200, then on Vnav descent, it almost went into a stall at 170 knots. Not the kind of aircraft that you can relax while flying and look away for a few minutes. Very disappointed frankly. It won't follow the speeds set in the FMC at all. Have to handfly the approach like it was a Cessna.. LOL.. as far as speeds go. I doubt if I will spend much time flying this, especially on APLV2, where you get docked for overspeeds and stalls. . Great plane! You have PMDG tunnel vision. You have been bagging out the Ifly Max8 since it release even before you owned it. You had your mind made up before using it! I suspect it must have been related to a keybinding or hardware binding / LVAR issue. If it were a bug in the plane, there definitely would have been another report of it by now. Interesting though.. if you do see it again and especially if you find it repeatable, please report. As far as the oscillations on final, I've not seen this either. I find the flight model to be about the best of the airliners I've tried in MSFS, and I've tested enough autolands in it to expect rock solid ILS tracking into the flare. However - did you have any 3rd party weather or turbulence app running? Activesky, FS realistic, or anything like that? I don't have experience with any of those myself but I've seen reports of the iFly not playing well with them. Might be worth a try with plane MSFS weather if so. Andrew Crowley

The PMDG EFB is as simple as they come its very basic and not very good would have to be the simplest crappiest out off them all , that comment proves you have PMDG tunnel Vision Edited January 28, 20251 yr by jason74 Jason Richards
