February 11, 20251 yr So I've rage-quit FS20 for a while... I can't go through the tedious FS20 control-mapping process again, but I believe there are a couple of tools that can do the mappings external to MSFS, does anybody have comments particularly * ability to save mappings * ability to print mappings * ability to edit mappings in text files * ability to import mappings into FS24 Thanks Keith ...
February 11, 20251 yr Same happened to me earlier. I think it may have been a server issue. Lost my assistances, sound and graphics settings and had to reset them all. If you go into the controls settings and re enable your profiles, that should bring them back without resetting any of your controllers. February 11, 20251 yr Reboot your computer and restart the sim. This brought mine back. Seems it was only a temporary server glitch. Two things: - 1. It was a day later when I did this. The server might have got over itself in the meantime. It was a nice surprise to see them back. 2. I really, really share your frustration! Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind). February 11, 20251 yr Agree on FSUIPC7 with its easily backed up plain text file that stores all the settings. I also put all my controller mappings in a spreadsheet stored in the cloud. My cloud is synced to my PC which I back up to a USB drive. I copy the USB drive to another USB drive in the office drawer. Computers should not be trusted to look after your valuable data (and settings). After you have set all your mappings, just copy and store that file. When you need it, drop it in the main directory, and within less than a minute, all your settings are back in case of any issues. Even though the MSFS 2020/2024 offers more fine-tuning, this problem has been going on for the last 4 years and is still not fixed, regardless of how easily it can be addressed. February 11, 20251 yr I take screen shots of the controller mappings. At least you have something, when all else fails. UserCfg.opt will hold the graphics settings so, make a copy of that. i7-13700KF @ 5.3GHz 32.0GB DDR5 @ 5600 RTX 3080 65" LG OLED @ 4k

It has happened to me a few times…searching the forums I found a post that simply had me un-plug all my USB controllers and re-plugging them back in. All my saved profiles (which I found out were cloud stored) were back. It was as if they were always there, which they were. I’ll try and find the post. i913900KF (5.8GHz) | Case: Fractal PopAir RGB I Gigabyte Z790 UD AX| MSI Gaming RTX 4070Ti Super 16GB | Kingston Fury Beast 64GB DDR5 5200Mhz | SOLIDIGM P41 Plus 2TB NVMe M.2 SSD | Samsung SSD 870 EVO 2TB | Thermalright Frozen Notte 240 MM Liquid Cooling | LG EVO 42" Monitor 3840 x 2160 120Hz | Honeycomb Alpha & Bravo | Logitech G Pro pedals | Tobii EyeTracker | 850W Thermaltake 80+ GOLD |

I was mentioning only FSUIPC settings, nothing about the cloud or starting from scratch. Just one little file saved on a hard drive or USB will do the trick. Just very easy without messing around with the cloud. 747 Captain for the last 39 years, and still learning.

I was replying to your comment about Asobe not caring about settings, and I was making a joke that they probably think that they don't have to because the settings are stored in the cloud.
