Msfs stuttering bug

Featured Replies

Well my sim does this horrible thing where is starts out of nowhere to stutter like crazy. I think u know what I'm talking about. For some people a switch from full screen and back fixes it, but for me nothing seems to work. I have tried everything but I just won't go away. Sometimes it happens, sometimes not. And when I press esc and I go into that animation where the camera flies around the plane, it's normal. No stuttering. I have no idea how to fix it. Any suggestions?

This always happens when VRAM gets fully loaded. Very often fps don't recover even when VRAM use gets lower. Only thing you can do is to monitor your VRAM and lower the settings, especially Terrain LOD.

Tomorrow or Friday we will have the SU2 Beta that might adress this problem. But I'm quite sure that nothing really can prevent extremely bad fps with full VRAM.

I bought a 7900xt with 20 GB so that problem is entirely gone for me. I had a 2080s before and that wasn't much fun.

Clear all your cache, check whether rBar is enabled, ensure you have the latest drivers, and use DLSS Swapper to check if you have the latest DLSS file. Follow the video below to clear cache (there is more than one). And if you are on anything less than an Nvidia 4 or 5 use the frame gen and AutoFPS mods to get the best performance with no stutters.

Turn off fauna and raytraced shadows.  Use Corsten's tool on flightsim.to to clear all msfs and nvidia caches.

I have a 4090 and I get stutters with the VRAM no where near full.

The more I try and tune the settings, the worse it seems to perform.

New nvidia drivers, clean install, empty comm folder, clear shaders, you name it I've tried many suggestions from all the knowledge here and elsewhere.

The performance of 2024 is worse for me now after SU1 than it was back in November. Heathrow for example is unusable due to stutters.

Anyway, that's my rant over.

Guys I fixed it! Turns out it was the dlss frame generation word not allowed with me. It sometimes glitches out and generates frames later than it should causing that horrible stuttering. Turned it off and it works perfectly. Hope this helps!
