Just saw a blurb on this...

Normally I'd not even consider an alpha, buuuuut... it's MilViz/BlackBird and one of the aircraft I've been pining for (a Hi Fi version of) in flight sim, so...hmmm.

"LIMITED QUANTITIES AVAILABLE"...???

No more alphas for me. Remember FSS E-jets?

Yea, not interested in another alpha and Blackbird has been kind of inconsistently of late.

Oh look, another sketch add-on release scheme. Hard pass.

True - could be another one like their Piaggio for P3D.

Meh - MilViz/BlackBird are well established and have a successful history of delivering Hi Fi military addons to...The Military (for IRL pilot training!).

Whereas FSS came from out of nowhere and seems to be stuck in neutral...

Maybe seems the same, but I'm willing to cut BBS/MV some slack because they've done (a LOT) of (really) good work before.

How so?

They've been doing well with the T-6A II - it works in v2024, and it was very good in v2020.

in v2020, the F4U was great, the PC-6 was solid, and the C310 was consistently lauded as one of The Best addons for v2020.

And again, on the T-38C (which they dev'd in P3D for the USAF) is still a great, Hi Fi addon and easily one of the best .mil addons ever in any sim.

The only addon I've been disappointed with is the T-45, but even then, it was coded by India Foxt Echo, who didn't put a lot of work into the systems or flight model (the 3D model was the same that MilViz built for...you guessed it... the US Navy!).

I'm not opposed to buying into an Alpha depending on the state it's in and the cost savings.  However, I do recall buying into the alpha (or was it beta, or maybe a pre-sale) on the Milviz King Air way back when and the unapologetic debacle that followed with that so I'm a little gun shy on this one.

Same here! Hard pass on an Alpha!

The whole "limited quantities available" comment just irks me and makes it feel like too much like a marketing scheme for me.

So they are literally asking for a limited paid alpha group?  To each their own!

Have a Wonderful Day

Milviz made probably my all time favourite addon but they have always had an equally top class BS department😁

Totally agree - that was definitely not their best work/service.

And agree - I'm not willing to buy into something unless I get a plane I can actually fly right when I hand over the money (my understanding on the King Air was that it was rather like a KickStarter and that it took literally years before a usable addon was available).

Agree it's cheesy sounding.

It's obviously not an available quantity thing; I'd think it's more along the lines of "are you really serious" or something.

Obviously not appealing to many/most customers...

Yeah, Colin has made many, many "aspirational" comments over the years where the product showed up years later or still hasn't (e.g. the SR-71 that has been shown flying in MSFS and looks largely complete (graphically)). Also they've shown their T-38 from P3D in MSFS and that's held up by some contract issue or something...

BUT, again, this 130J is a project they've been working on for IRL military training, so I give it a higher chance of actually releasing for simmers like us.

Fingers crossed and we'll see what they say...

When it is released, I hope they include the civilian L-100 variant, too. They did mention it many moons ago.

Surely not everybody was kung fu fighting.
