  • VRAM was Yellow (MSFS using 9+ GB of VRAM), meaning the settings are too high for that 10GB card.

No performance fixes is a severe worry, the weather fix is welcomed.

How does the new beta update compare with X-plane?

Those three main ones, I've suffered from them all. They claim the VRAM issue is fixed in this beta but it's clearly not, but they never understood it properly in the first place so...!

When I was involved in software development I always talked to the client and had them show me what the problem was. Bug listings were only usefull from a project management perspective. How often did asobo say "cant reproduce"

I hope that they fix this issue as there are so many variables at play.

I initially had huge pauses / stutters on approach (3090 GPU), and then I turned all shadow options down to their lowest setting (RT off), and all of my problems went away. I was even able to increase my TLOD from 100 to 200 (sat at 200 in MS2020 as well).

I have flown many flights with no stutters or issues on approach since then. But obviously that won't work for everyone.

Their whole Beta Bug reporting process is woeful, the shear lack of direct communication being one area that's blatantly needed but they won't ever change. Strange when the SDK Forum has direct chat with Asobo employees, but when it comes to game breaking low FPS on Final (for example) we only ever get the Forum Mods "passing on" information, it's a one way street and it hasn't changed for 4 years now...!

It's not every flight, but when it happens it's a right horrible experience, literally single digit FPS 50feet off the ground until you're over half-way down the runway, sometimes it never recovers until you (somehow) make it to Parking.

Thing is we shouldn't have to lower settings all thew way down to "fix" poor optimisation, regardless some users have done this and still have issues. It's certainly something that started during Beta, as most performance related issues weren't there at the very start from what I've seen & heard at least.

(not my video for reference), settings are irrespective of the issue at hand. Notice how good his/her FPS was at the start of the video but then it plummets into single digits, if anything it points to continuous VRAM issues from Asobos side not that of the users experiencing this issue. Again as above some people have lowered settings all the way down and have still experienced this issue.

Are we safe to go ? Or will i get downgraded to live build ? 🤣
