  • probably the best chance for a better outcome would be if you take your complaints directly to the pmdg forum or file a ticket with them, instead of harping on this over and over again in a flight sim

Casual DDowns claiming nothing is wrong like usual. Just keeps telling PMDG what they want to hear. Narcissist behaviour

  • @RNAVV19R completely agree with your thoughts on the wind, turn the wind off and it’s fine. I’d also love to see the ifly 747-400 brought into MSFS 2024, a bit of competition is good for everyone

I just wanted to copy a post of mine from the PMDG forum to this discussion here, because I found it fits the topic (although it was about their jerky LNAV, another long standing issue). Well, it is no longer there. Must have been deleted by PMDG...

My stance in short. It's not worth for them to correct these issues, that only a handful of vocal users complain about. They sell their stuff anyways, as it's still good enough for the vast majority of the users. PMDG is not about making the best possible add-ons. PMDG is aiming for the maximum profit. Which makes total sense as a company, I have to add.

I think it's sad. PMDG are in many ways very good at what they do, in some I would even say industry leading. Yet, in some areas they are lacking so much, that I don't want to touch my PMDG add-ons anymore (737, 777). And it seems, they are not willing to go that last step (see my interpretation above). I prefer other add-ons these days. I will not buy anything from PMDG until I see improvements in the areas I think they are lacking.

This stops me from using my PMDG add-ons:

1. Their whole lateral turn coordination is borked (jerky LNAV and RNP turns, ILS intercepts all over the place).

2. Wrong nose wheel steering logic when using rudder pedals, making crasswind takeoffs and landings more complicated than they should be.

3. Autothrottle being slow to react, resulting in over- and undershoots (777 is a little better than 737).

I will of course still keep an eye on PMDG. But I fear, I will stay away from them for a long time. I'm sure they will not miss me. 🤣

I don't really remember anymore... Did the FSX777 suffer from the same issue? If yes, it's very possible they're using the same old algorithms with some updates here and there that obviously didn't fix anything.

I never really noticed any problems myself, but then again i don't fly the real thing and i wouldn't be able to tell the difference in more complex situations.

I assume this is mostly an autothrottle issue. Blackbox did a stream recently where he hand flew the approach with autothrottle disengaged with a 12 knot cross wind and was happy with how the plane felt.

So, the workaround would be to disengage A/T when hand flying, right? I know it's not what Boeing recommends, but well, I can change my SOPs if needed.

This one is so annoying. They said they improved LNAV yet this still remains. IMO, they are good at performance, lacking on the details.
