Wait... what about Nvidia Geforce now, Xbox Cloud Gaming and Playstation now?

Not to mention, doesn't Google notoriously kill off really good products? I mean there's even a website for it https://killedbygoogle.com/

I'm gratified you are using the sim that you prefer, but why does that have to end with a silly comment towards 2024?  I can agree with some of your points regarding 2024 because we are not even at th

I don't understand people who think you can't have multiple simulators installed at the same time. STORAGE IS CHEAP! I still have installed XP12, P3Dv5.5, MSFS2020 and 2024.

Not me,  still a huge MSFS2020 fan and this would go at least until the end of this year so possible at this time the most bad and anoying bugs are blocked out of MSFS2024 !! cheers 😉

My spec is getting older. So MSFS 2020 will stay in my drive, just in case I wanna fly airliners. Since I mostly fly low and slow, MSFS 2024 is the primary sim. I dont know what to do with my Xplane 12 lol, rarely use it. Don't regret purchasing it though

I am loving X-Plane 12. Just swtiched over. Had I bought X-Plane first I still would have bought MSFS 2020 and 2024 to have a look see. The MSFS 2024 preview trailers were mind blowing. Anyway, I am very happy to have both.

It looks so ancient compared to MSFS.

It sure does but it works way better. It is robust, reliable and has excellent flight models and physics. I can be in the air 5 nm on final in 2 minutes without ever any fuss. You can save flights. It is a nice contrast to have a PC Sim that runs off of your PC. MSFS does look fantastic in the graphics department so it is my go to for scenic GA flights at 2,000 feet around cities. X-Plane is great for airliners. Horses for courses.

Over 3,000 hours and one CTD with MSFS 2020, good FPS, and it looks just like what I see when I fly a real aircraft. Can't beat it.

Out of the box it is not ideal, but ancient compared to MSFS - no way.  2024 is my main sim (I get called a f.a.n.b.o.y often enough), but I took these in XP12.You may prefer MSFS and I get that, but a well configured XP12 can also be excellent.

What is your experience with MSFS 2024? Good performance? MSFS 2020 is kind of old. If you think X-Plane has bad graphics you should see the graphics in the $26 MM, full motion CAE 787 simulator I was flying. Worse than MSFS 2000.

How do you do this? I see you can spend a fortune in X-Plane for modelled airports. That's a hard pass for me. So how do you get these graphics and how much? What about improving cities?

I have about 10 hours at least in a CAE 767-400, as well as Cobra and Harrier Simulators. Those sims are developed with no attempt to generate realistic scenery. You are comparing apples and oranges.

Just curious, why do you keep trying to inject X Plane debates  into these forums on MSFS, wouldn't you be better off posting on XPlane forums?

Bob, I was replying to an X-Plane post in this thread. Go back and read my posts and please screen shot where I injected X-Plane?  I know you are not one to embellish.

It is easier now than it used to be - just install the map enhancement tool for XP and you can have worldwide satellite imagery for free (there is a pay version for some extra features).  A bit more effort to install than the MSFS version but well worth it.  The other two packages you need are SimHeaven and Global Forests (total $23).  Default airports in XP12 are decent.

Pop over to the XP12 forum to read about some other excellent addons like VisualXP.

I believe this will change with the release of more and more SU’s and as more developers prioritise 2024 for updates and new releases. A significant milestone will be when PMDG releases their 737s.

Anyone sticking with MSFS 2020 until the end is trying to avoiding the inevitable. Kind of like the band playing while they are shuffling chairs on the titanic.

Was this comment really necessary? What difference does it make to your enjoyment of flight simulation if I (and many others) choose to stick with MSFS 2020 for various reasons?

I think it ties in with the OPs thread title quite nicely. MSFS 2024 is the future. MSFS 2020 at some point will not be supported. If 2020 is not the end of the line for you, then there is no reason to not embrace MSFS 2024. It takes time to learn the hacks of 2024 and set up your planes and hardware. I dropped 2020 the day 2024 came out and have not looked back since.
