Looks like there is a small delay for the B77W!

Why should an issue with the marketplace version specifically delay the non-marketplace release?

Just update the non-marketplace version later once the fix is done.

I am assuming the codebase is the same for direct release versions as opposed to marketplace versions.

As well as not wanting to do extra work which is acceptable in my eyes. They need to get the marketplace file naming issue completely fixed across all their product lines first standardize everything then release. They already have to post release patch the 77F and 772.. does not make sense to add to that by using resources to release the 77W then doing a post release patch when they may as well hold it and fix internally before release since it needs to be fixed anyway.

Probably not the most popular take but meh.

This company is hilariously over the top with the hype train!

I, for one, thank Mr. Randazzo for being so transparent. I don't mind waiting for the PDMG to address any issues, I would rather wait than have to deal with them afterward.

If he did no updates, you would criticize PMDG for not communicating with the community.

When he does an update, he's a "charlatan" just trying to "sell something."

When he's late to do an update, it's because he's off doing dastardly deeds and stealing money from the community.

And when he gives a completely factual update like this one, it's just some master stroke of manipulation, yet again!

Explain exactly what you want to see from Robert then, because it doesn't seem to be doing anything for a lot of you no matter what he does. Maybe it's time for a new hobby.

I'm enjoying the best of both worlds. I'm happily flying the 777-300ER in 2020 while I wait.

Porting over the “freebie” from 2020 should have been the first priority.

Marketing 101. Many people purchased the other versions so as not to have to wait. PMDG certainly made some additional revenue releasing in the order they did.

We don’t need all the update chatter. Just release when ready otherwise!

 

Yeah whatever .. waited this long, another week or three won’t matter really. Release when it’s done.

I'm mid-senior in sales and marketing. He's doing the right marketing activities while providing customer success-type support updates. You're complaining to complain, this argument reads like total nonsense. I'm going to venture that you just don't know what you're talking about here. The PMDG comms strategy is extremely boilerplate, large dev style, and is appropriate for the type of product they're supporting.

If you're going to criticize, that's fine, but come with a concrete bit of criticism, instead of vaguely slandering by saying he's "playing games" or trying to Monday Morning quarterback the development choices. Also, no sources provided, peddling a pricing/release conspiracy theory transactionally.

Look - if I had to advise on GTM into this community, I'd respectfully advise the customer to find a new market. You're being impossible.

No One runs the hype train better than Randazzo for add on products for flight simming!

Sorry I'm not an PMDG evangelist!

He makes some decent stuff that many others have caught up to in far less time!

BTW...I'm top end Sales & Marketing, nuff said!

A lot of grandstanding here with not much detail.

PMDG, Fenix, Hotstart, Toliss, etc. could release to a deadline like inibuilds, and then patch/update it to a product that's worth the asking price, or they could release a polished product.  I would prefer the latter.
