Wow. Seriously.

Your either  an airbus or a Boeing guy

 PERIOD.

No risk of this turning into a religious debate 😝

  • Not true. I fly both as much as each other!

  • Best bang for buck get the Fenix Airbuses.  But the FSLabs A321 Neo and Ifly Max8 are both fantastic. I own all. I prefer the FSlabs bus myself

  • If I only have a choice between 737 or a32x I would choose FSLabs. If given the choice between all the MFS tubes I would choose the Leonardo MD80.

If you go down the Boeing route for payware, then go for the (free) FlyByWire A320 - then you might get the best of both worlds!

I could do that but I need to decide what WinWing MCDU/AP panels to buy and which aircraft systems to invest time in learning… I’m guessing there’s no right or wrong choice here, just preference.

I would go for the Fenix buses now. Also, they are going to release a hugh update hopefully very soon. As far as Boeings go the top dog now is IFly Max 8 737, then PMDG for the bigger 777 Boeings. Also Ini Builds has a graet A350 also if you perfer larger planes.  It all depends on what model you want to fly. You can't go wrong with either.

lol @ a350, he said near study level, not an overpriced toy

Sounds like the only airliner to get for 2024 is the PMDG 777-200 then?

I have the IFly and Fenix and am fortunate enough to have the MCDU and EFIS/FCU for the Airbuses and the FMS, MCP for the Ifly. All from Winwing BTW. I've been on the Ifly almost exclusively for the past 2 months but will get back into the Fenix or FSLabs Neo shortly. I really enjoy both. The Boeing logic to me is more intuitive but It really is just a matter of readjusting your processes. I mean Iin real live you have Airbus pilots going to Boeing and vice a versa. To start out you need to figure out what you may enjoy more and go from there. The PMDG is sitting in my hangar and I will probably gram the Winwing MCP for that one as well hehehe :-)!

You want the Fenix or FSLabs A32X if you are going down the Winwing route. Winwing have alot more airbus options on the horizon. They also have the EFIS panels to complete the FCU.

Indeed. No right or wrong. I did go the airbus way with EFISL FCU MCDU UrsaMinorL and TM complete throttle pack and flying mostly Fenix and Toliss. Alpha and Bravo can chime in for non stick operations. I love the fact that the very same airbus systems are shared over a complete family of aircraft being the 320 family, 330 and even 340. I love the immersion. And when using mobiflight you can even fly whatever you want with them. I even use the MCDU and rest for my T7F (and others classic ones). That will def not look like Boeing or others then but I don't have the money and place for more hardware. Be aware that (bad) INI doesn't broadcast the MCDU output so you won't see the display working. PMDG and Fenix working nice. FSL I can't comment (but they are a nogo area for me anyway but that should not distract from the basic question).

A tough decision but seeing all the nice things winwing is doing I def would go the airbus way again. Have fun either way!

Cheers T.

Thanks. A couple questions…

Are the Winwing Boeing units shipping? When I looked on their site they looked like they were coming soon.

One thing I want to do is try flying one of these airliners into some of the more challenging airport approaches… I felt like the FBW Neoi flew in FS20 was more like turning dials to fly… and hand flying was ugly like fighting it… but that’s probably a skill issue. I’m hearing the 737 is more rewarding to hand fly and this might be more suited to what I want to do. I dunno. Thoughts?

That is the main difference.

That is what I meant in my previous message

Maybe think of an older bird if you want a more handheld experience

Airbus 300-600 is pretty good if you stay with Airbus.

737 better then 777 for hands om experience

Course you go real old and try your hands on MD 11 or 727 or small like the RJ or CRJ.

All good planes byhe way

That's a great video. Given I want to try and fly the plane into some of the more challenging airport approaches, I'm thinking the Boeing is going to be more fun. When I was flying the FBW 320 Neo in FS20, I found that I was just flying by turning dials and watching the plane follow the path. I only touched the stick for flare and to pull  up on take off. I found hand flying it was like fighting it but that was probably a skill issue. It sounds like the 737 is going to be better for hand flying.  I dunno.

I flew  Airbus for a couple of years off and on in two different sims, but after awhile I enjoyed the challenge that I felt with the Boeing aircraft, that I didn't get in the Airbus. The Airbus as far as safety, however, I think is more advanced than Boeing.

Thanks, thats the sense I got from that video  as well. The pilot praised all the automation in the Airbus and it seems safer.  The tech nerd in me definitely prefers the Airbus as well, but I'm not flying in the real world and want a good hand flying experience, so it sounds like Boeing is the better option.

IRL, I'd prefer Airbus. Playing on the PC, I prefer the 737 because there's more to do, and it feels more fun. I'd potentially get PMDGs 737 once out for 2024, or the iFly.
