AIG TRAFFIC

What about AIG without TC, just via .BGL control? Is this still possible? Less prone to problems?

  • Before I moved to FSHUD traffic injection I used an auto restart on crash app so if TC crashed it automatically restarted itself.  Worked great... https://m.majorgeeks.com/files/details/restart_o

Honestly, its usually better to disable traffic once airborne and re-inject once you land. In MSFS, if you keep traffic open the entire duration of the flight, they tend to do weird things once y

AIG doesn't offer traffic bgl's in MSFS 2020 or 2024 citing too many issues. I've seen people use them on their own with pretty good success, but that's all up to each user.

Another reason why BGL aren't used, is because when compiling flight plans, each route has it's own flightplan routing generated, similar to simbrief. This allows TC to select a SID or STAR for any AI aircraft.

We are currently tracking some SimConnect related crashes. It might not be the best solution yet, but here a few workarounds:

1) Use the AIGTC traffic limiter to limit ground traffic to departure/arrival airports (enroute traffic is not limited by this!)

2) Avoid using the map (my tests have shown that some CTDs are related to the position updates on the map - still no clue why....)

There are currently some issues we have not seen before, but as soon as we can replicate them I will start working on a fix.

Regarding traffic behavior:

I guess we will not see any major improvements within MSFS2020 by ASOBO in the near future. For MSFS2024 there will be changes in SU3 and potential ways for us to add more workarounds.

There are several over at flightsim.to

at the moment we do not provide a VMR file, but this might change.

Still about AIG Traffic, I've recently reinstalled AI-Manager and some 81 flightplans need to be manually installed (manual livery download). The problem is the browser is requesting AVSIM login, even providing the correct credentials it won't work. In my other PC (this one) the login is obviously working fine. I've tried 2 different browsers already but the outcome is the same. When I close the browser, the software asks for the downloaded file, but it doesn't exist.

Is this an error on my side? Can it be fixed?

Hmmmm, thanks. So... It seems it's not working as expected.

Sorry Wanthuyr,

AVSIM uses a new download method that is no longer compatible with AIG's AIM. You could look up the requested file and download it prior to moving to the next step...this is my workaround.

I tried again and noticed there was really some kind of problem logging into Avsim (just the files repository part, the forum part was always OK). Alright, so I've created another account and was able to login.

Considering all packages available within AI-Manager, 85 had issues and had to be manually installed. Long story short, more than a half didn't work, either files were not found online or were downloaded with different naming, thus not recognised by AI-Manager when it should be pick up after download. One other site (don't recall the name) was not available since I didn't have an account and the site had account creation disabled. A few other occasions I got "file not found".

Is there a method to disable these "problematic" packages/airlines in order to prevent AI-Manager from showing the "Repair Missing Textures" red button?

The problem with Avsim Library login - the trick is to login and then DON'T do anything for about a minute.  Your screen will tell you you are logged in, but Traffic manager seems to take a while in the background to actually work that out.

Having to do manual downloads, if you go to settings in the AIG Traffic manager, there is a setting you can toggle on or off called something like "Allow Manual downloads" - turn this to OFF.

As for the missing repaints you mention above, if you have downloaded the entirety of the AIG package, that's somewhere in the region of 9000+ different liveries and variations, so the likelihood of you ever noticing you don't have these 40 repaints is slim to non-existent.

Cheers.

I did, but apparently it just keeps asking to fix the liveries on and on. If there's a way for the software to just ignore/exclude those, if would be cleaner...

As for the amount of traffic, absolutely! Even a thousand worldwide would be more than enough to me.

Hello again,

I've been quite a few months away and now back again, updated successfully all AIG packages but when it comes to AIGTC it's not loading anymore (with or without FS2020). As soon as the splash screen closes and the main window open, some advisory appear and the next second everything vanishes, program is not running anymore. Is this a known issue? How do I start fixing this? Thanks!
