He includes links to his "merch" and links to Amazon for gear he advertises, likely getting kickbacks, and like most Youtubers begs people to subscribe for more ad revenue. Well, yes, of course. The PC YouTube channels are businesses, with employees. Gamers Nexus, Linux Tech Tips, they all are. That doesn't mean the potential issue is something they made up. If I recall corectly the issue was something originally on Reddit.

September 8, 2025Sep 8 Commercial Member I'm not surprised. I said it when it first came out, this feels like a hardware problem. In a component with no moving parts, there's nothing that software should be able to do to cause it to fail. If it does, it's a firmware problem. Cheers Luke Kolin I make simFDR, the most advanced flight data recorder for FSX, Prepar3D and X-Plane.

September 12, 2025Sep 12 JayZ says his testing is only done using retail versions of hardware and firmware, so I'm not convinced that "pre-release" firmware is to blame. He did apparently solve the reproducible problem he had on a T500 SSD by updating from one publicly-released firmware version to a later one, so perhaps making sure SSD firmware is up-to-date is a good idea, particularly with SSDs incorporating Phison controllers.
