MSFS MMMX scenery

Featured Replies

As the title suggests, looking for input on an MMMX Mexico City Scenery for MSFS.

Looks like there is a FlyMex which gets average at best reviews however more concerning is that it has a broken install process leaving files/folders in the wrong spot including Program Files/ Temp/Users  Folders inside the Community directory.  If a dev pays so little attention to how their program installs I have very little reason to believe they pay attention to details within the scenery itself and reviews seem to back that up.

There also appears to be a freeware that gets meh reviews as well.

Does anyone have FlyMex and can you comment on the install process and quality and does anyone have any other ideas/suggestions?

I tried Flymex scenery years ago and found that was one of the biggest mistakes in purchases I ever made. I'm surprised that Aerosoft still sells that word not allowed. You did not mention which version of MSFS you're running, but Flight.to has some very nice freeware Mexico airport sceneries. I used about a dozen of them in my 2020 days. I haven't tried in 2024 yet, but will when I get a chance.

I would NOT recommend this scenery either. It is super low quality/detail and not worth the price tbh. Freeware options at flightsim.to are similar.

Thank you @Bigmack and @mxflyer737 this was exactly the type of feedback I was looking for even if disappointing it is greatly appreciated!

Add this to the list of airports that needs a good add-on

It's a shame.  MMMX is a cool airport due to geography and altitude etc.  Many close flights.  Would have thought by now somebody would have done it properly.  Even taxi 2 gate.  They seem to show up, release something, then disappear.  I wonder what's keeping this from being done by one of the more higher tier devs at this point?

Yes, it is also a key cargo hub that I have wanted for a long time. Unfortunately it has escaped the attention of the better developers but I think a good rendition would sell well.

MSFS 2024. Primary Planes: Black Square TBM850, Duke, Baron, Caravan; A2A Comanche; FSReborn Phenom; Fexix A321; PMDG 737-7, 777: Utilities: Active Sky (Passive Mode); BATC, FSLTL.

It seems surprising that such an important hub in Central America, serving a city of over 22 million inhabitants is missing in MSFS2024! Was it included in MSFS2020?

Or am I misinterpreting this thread and there is a default MMMX, but you are looking for a custom option?

I fly there in real life every now and then but that is such a giant PITA that I don´t even want to repeat that even in a flight simulator 😆

Its no longer a cargo hub.  All cargo flights into Mexico City now go to the "newly renovated" Felipe Angeles airport.

Looking for a custom option, absolutely it is there by default, Asobo did not forget about Mexico but add-on devs seem to have forgotten about MMMX...

Dennis is right, not much cargo is flown into MMMX anymore.   Felipe Angeles Airport is the old Santa Lucia air force base to the north/east of town.

I have limited knowledge of this, maybe incomplete -- for a time they wanted to build a new airport on one of the lake beds, but for a variety of reasons that didn't work out.  Then they wanted to close MMMX and re-build Santa Lucia.   Then they wanted to keep MMMX for domestic flights and move international to Santa Lucia.   None of the politicians could agree.  Eventually it was decided to move cargo flights to Santa Lucia and re-build it and call it "Felipe Angeles Airport".

There's a freeware Felipe Angeles but I'd love a higher-res version of it, too.

I purchased it at Contrail. I am not sure, but I think I can't post commercial links here.

Dreamflight's Oaxaca is really nice, detail-wise-wish a good dev would bring us an updated MMMX and MMTJ (Magsoft hasn't bothered updating theirs).

I have the FlyMex MMMX airport that I bought on Marketplace and don't have any issues with it.  There was an update for MSFS2024 for $8 that I also did.  I bought MMSM on Marketplace that I also like.

For freighter folks like me they are excellent.
