MSFS vs X-Plane @ 30FPS

If you’re seeing ghosting at any fps in 2024 something isn’t right. This isn’t a usual thing

You're right, it's called MSFS 2020/2024. If you are not seeing any smearing or ghosting in 30FPS then you have a very special setup, congrats. I'm am getting ghosting/smearing in 4K @30FPS on a 43" ASUS 4K monitor that supports 120Hz. I am also getting ghosting and smearing on a 4K monitor that supports 60Hz. I am getting ghosting and smearing on an Alienware 25" 1080P monitor that supports 240Hz when I run either MSFS 2020 or MSFS 2024.

However with those same two monitors, I don't have that problem with XP12.

In which case you should probably have put a little more thought into your thread title ...

In the first paragraph, I mentioned ghosting. The thread specially compares two titles running @ 30FPS. I can't be more specific than that.

Ok that language makes it clear that you just want to spark another XP12 fight for some weird reason.

I’m out of this thread.  MSFS works great for me ( as does XP12) and I’m not someone that feels the need to fight about this.

Too bad that you’re having a bad experience. Good luck to you.

Again, what is ghosting ? Can you explain?

NO...because I previously mentioned in this thread as well as others that I prefer MSFS 2020/24 over XP12. I find the out of the box experience better. This was never about who is the better product, XP12 or MSFS 2020/24. It was and has been about that I don't see any smearing or ghosting in XP12 running at 30FPS where it is visible in both versions of MSFS. You also missed the part where I said I have purchased XP9/10/11/12. So where did you come up with the idea i'm trying to start a food fight?

When you pan the view camera, the image blurs (breaks up) both inside outside the plane. It becomes really exaggerated at 30FPS,the image stays very clear at 60FPS when panning the camera around both inside and outside the plane.

Ok got ya! I had this phenomena before with my old rig i9 13900. I cured it by buying G sync monitor and running refresh rate at 120hz. In MSFS setting I turned G sync is off so I use hardware option instead.

My new rig Ryzen 9 9950x3d + 64G RAM + RTX5090 let me run my Odyssey G935C at 5120x1440 (120hz) without tearing or blurring when panning camera inside or outside . I'm very happy with it right now

I also experimented with different AA filters: None, TAA, DLAA, DLSS, FSR and it made no difference at 30FPS.

I'm using DLSS and FSR. I use Tobii eye tracker. I set it up to react on my head movement rather than eye. I can pan super quick using my head movement (in any view) and don't have so called "ghosting" and "tearing"

Did you call Ghostbusters?

I see no ghosting at 30 fps. Your setup is probably messed up.

Can we please stop seeing every thread with the letters "XP" in them as an open declaration of war? It is getting very tiresome.

I thought i'd share this with anyone who plays either of these two at 30FPS. I typically try to achieve 60FPS in MSFS 2020/24 because there is a lot of ghosting when panning either inside the cockpit or viewing the landscape when it is set to 30FPS.

It's a setup issue.  I ran 30FPS for ages in 2020 and authored a thread here about how to achieve Ultimate Smoothness at Modest Frame rates and never saw 'ghosting' as you've defined it.  Here is a frame time variance capture from that period:
