November 29, 2025Nov 29 Another recommending the JF BAe 146, a great value deal. Interesting market / flight profile niche coupled with 70's era "you have to get off your word not allowed to operate/monitor" systems. If you can't afford a C-17 Globemaster then fly around in it's "Love Child."

So It's just a complete No Brainer purchase for XP 🙂 👍. Really great addon of an extremely versatile IRL aircraft (short/rough field capable, etc.). And it doesn't suffer from the same cockpit visual artifacts that many other XP addons have (shimmer or marching ants, not sure exactly which it's called). The Airfoil Labs King Air 350 just got a MAJOR update to v2.0 (retextures and many bug fixes), but it's still on sale for $35 instead of $50. One of my all time favorite addons in any sim. I've been looking at those two deals long and hard, still have them in my cart and I might go for one or both. So far I got the vFlyteair PA-28 Cherokee for which I had a coupon and the Aerobask Diamond DA50, after all I am mostly a single engine type of virtual pilot Edited November 29, 2025Nov 29 by peroni
November 29, 2025Nov 29 For those inclined to the BAe 146: Note that this aircraft does not have an auto-throttle and you can only fine-tune the turbine gas temperature with the thrust computer. Speed management in cruise is a game of "find the correct TGT value for this weight to maintain speed", with said value being in the ballpark of 1 or 2 °C. Great fun otherwise though, and you get the entire 146 fleet (no RJ though) in a single package. Aerobask makes good stuff - I enjoy their Lancair! I’ve long had the JF Arrows, so haven’t tried vFlyte as yet. I did pull the trigger on the X-Aviation SR 22 (vs the lower cost SR 20…”in for a penny, in for a pound”!). I flew it around for almost two hours yesterday just to get the feel of the thing. And oh my word did it provide a stunningly satisfying experience! Basically, it’s exactly what they say in the web page. I should’ve purchased it years ago, but the fixed gear turned me off. Well, I’m definitely going to make up the time now! Flight model feels great, sounds are immersive, system depth, etc. Plenty to keep me busy and engaged. Add it to your list - money well spent 😎🤙

I call it the “Anti-Airbus” 😄 and not to mention it can go to airfields that would literally break any Boeing or Airbus jetliner. It’s a legit tactical airlifter and can handle rough field ops, road strips, etc. Even MORE opportunities for fun😎 Edited November 29, 2025Nov 29 by UrgentSiesta

At least for the -300, using the RJ100's cruise table N1 is close enough to "set and forget" Can't find any other 146's performance table/chart though. BTW my recommendation is AFL350 as they just fixed their flight performance issue, now it too can be "set and forget" by the table (came within the add-on) for cruise power setting
November 30, 2025Nov 30 Does the XPlane version of JF's 146 work with the TDS GTN750Xi? I see it has a config for the RXP gauge, so I'm guessing the TDS will work in compatibiity mode...can anyone verify that? November 30, 2025Nov 30 By Copilot: Short answer: The Just Flight BAe 146 for X‑Plane does not have native integration for the TDS GTN750Xi, but since it supports the RealityXP GTN 750, you can run the TDS GTN750Xi in standalone/compatibility mode. This means you won’t see it fully embedded in the cockpit like the RXP gauge, but you can still use the TDS unit externally to drive navigation. 🔎 Detailed Explanation - Native support: The Just Flight BAe 146 Professional (X‑Plane 11/12) includes a configuration for the RealityXP GTN 750. This is explicitly documented in Just Flight’s support pages. - TDS GTN750Xi in X‑Plane: The TDS GTN750Xi is available for X‑Plane 11 and 12, with full Navigraph support, charts, and advanced mapping. However, developers need to integrate it into their aircraft panels for seamless cockpit use. - Compatibility mode: Since the BAe 146 only has a RealityXP integration, the TDS GTN750Xi can be used in standalone mode. In this mode, the TDS unit runs externally and can control navigation functions, but it won’t appear inside the aircraft’s panel unless the developer adds explicit support. - Community feedback: On Just Flight’s forums, users have asked about TDS GTN integration. The general consensus is that you can use the TDS GTNXi externally, but cockpit integration is not yet available. Developers have hinted that the FMC is the main focus, so GTN support may not be expanded further. November 30, 2025Nov 30 Thanks Jose. My understanding is that the TDS standalone and compatibiity modes are two different things. Standalone is the mode where the GTN is accessed as a pop-up gauge not integrated into the panel, where the compatibility mode does allow the TDS to replace the RXP gauge in the panel using the panel's RXP frame, albeit with some minor potential limitations, e.g. 3D knobs may not turn. I have the TDS GTN750Xi gauge installed in the Thranda PC-12 and C208, as well as the Aerobask Lancair, and replacing the RXP gauge with the TDS does work in those panels without need for a pop-up. Hello Bob, The TDS GTNXi XPlane has a Legacy VC feature, which automatically detects a legacy GTN bezel installation and thus utilizes it for a true virtual cockpit integration; which includes the working 3d knobs/keys. This works in almost all add-on aircraft for X-Plane, with very few exceptions, where there is some GTN hard coding in place. The JustFlight BAE146 should work just fine with the Legacy VC feature of the TDS GTNXi XPlane! In case you have any specific questions, do not hesitate to address them to us!
December 1, 2025Dec 1 My Qantas pilot mate. Took the tollis A319 up. Fitst time in xplane or any pc flightsim. Had issues but cant expect too much. Learning how to twiddle knobs with mouse. Views etc, but it was fascinating watching him prigramme Mcdu as if he was in real plane. He flies a330 says there are some differences. We nearly crashed but as i said.new plane for me. First time oc sim for him. Hes on real simulator this week. Probably see him sunday for round 2. I have work to do.
December 6, 2025Dec 6 Looking forward to round 2. Which hopefully will be better than the second test is shaping out to be, at least from an Englishman's perspective.
December 9, 2025Dec 9 I discovered i had a lot of brownie points at org store so got jar a330. See how it goes hasnt being updated in a while
