December 10, 2025Dec 10 This morning I test SU4 on a much longer flight from Honolulu to Ontario in the PMDG 777F. When I taxied out of HNL the sunrise was starting to happen and even though it looked good before it seemed to look better now. The reflection of the sunrise on the water as I taxied out to the reef runway looked amazing and that sunrise behind downtown Honolulu with Diamond Head off in the distance was truly amazing. It was partly cloudy at the time but even though I have Inibuilds HNL with Samscene HNL combined with that stunning sunrise I never felt any sort of performance issue. In fact even on my somewhat dated system (I7 10700i with 2070 Super) it was a very fluid experience. I never had it real bad but memory leakage was always an issue on previous FS2024 builds especially on longer flight. Same with the menu system as it seemed the more I used it the worse it would work and you would get random little pops and clicks in the audio. It looks like this has been remedied with SU4. Even more amazing as I entered the California coast off LA performance remained totally fluid and stutter free. FS2024 never really stuttered like FS2020 would in dense areas on my system but would randomly pause as something in the scenery was loading. I think this happened once and it was so brief it was over before it even started. Ground textures seem sharper than before but could still use some improvement. Hopefully in a future sim update. What I did see being improved was seeing more trees than before. In the past I had some trees but many green rock looking things that were supposed to be trees. It likely depends on the area and server loads/internet speeds but I would say before on average maybe 60% of my trees were correctly rendered. Now its more like 90%. I still see the occasional tree that is not correctly rendered but you have to look pretty hard for it. Probably a limitation with my system more than anything at this point! One thing not yet fixed that I am hoping for is improved exterior lighting on the aircraft. For example on the PMDG 777F you can hardly see the navigation lights and the strop lights unless you are close and even than they are pretty dim. I would think this would be an easy fix for Asobo but for some reason they have not gotten around to it. BTW, the PMDG 777F did not give me any issues and the Boris Sound set seems to work even better under SU4. I did not bother to research if they improved sounds any but maybe perhaps better memory management is helping things like sounds work better? Overall I am very impressed with SU4. Sometimes you get these sim updates and you often wonder just what did they really fix? Not with this one its almost a whole new sim. Its really making me wonder what we will get in the future? SU4 is likely just the beginning of improvements we will see!
December 10, 2025Dec 10 Oh dear just when I thought Asobo had redeemed themselves a major game breaking issue appears....and it's been around since SU2 with anyone with a 9000* AMD card (and maybe other models), only just recently got mine. Strange jaggy areas across all aircraft cockpits at night 😖 MSFS is so painfully annoying sometimes! https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/weird-graphical-artifacts-around-cockpit-at-night-on-amd-rx-9000-series-gpus/ Edited December 10, 2025Dec 10 by MarcG Pico Neo3 Link VR - Windows 11 64bit, Gigabyte Z590 Aorus Elite Mobo, i7-10700KF CPU, Gigabyte RX 9070 XT OC 16gb (AMD GPU), 32gig Corsair 3600mhz RAM, SSD x2 + M.2 SSD 1tb x1 Saitek X45 HOTAS - Saitek Pro Rudder Pedals - Logitech Flight Yoke - Homemade 3 Button & 8-directional Joystick Box, SNES Controller (used as a Button Box - Additional USB Numpad (used as a Button Box)

December 10, 2025Dec 10 First test on my side, with the A350 from iniBuilds at EDDF, I do not see a significant improvement in terms of fps (my settings are most of them at Ultra/High), as many are saying on Youtube but perhaps is just on my side.. I will try to delete all the DXcache and so on. Valentin Rusu AMD Ryzen 9950X3D OC, Asus RTX 5090 OC, DDR5 64GB @6000MHz, Samsung 9100 NVMe for MSFS2024
December 11, 2025Dec 11 So i have fired up su4 for first time since 2024 has come out and i have been flying in 2020 . Now I have deleted cache etc. Thou clouds and scenery looks grainy. Do i need to turn off film grain like 2020 user.opt? Thanks Mike
December 12, 2025Dec 12 I've got sound stutters back in SU4...they'd disappeared in SU3. Sigh. AMD Ryzen™ 9 9900X3D, AM5, Zen 5, 12 Core, 24 Threads, 4.4GHz, 5.5GHz Turbo 64GB (2x32GB) DDR5 6000MHz Corsair Vengeance 32GB GeForce® RTX 5090 Graphics Card

January 7Jan 7 Loving su4 after slowly transitioning and setting up control bindings. Flying 2020 also. Thou in 2024 i get slight flashing when changing views. Any fix? Thanks
