DLSS Swapper don`t show me a DLSS 310.4 to download ( i am on MSFS2020 ) so i am still on 310.3 but i am happy with that Version..

cheers 😉

You have to import the 310.4 versions by manually downloading them from the net and then using the import function of the swapper.

I don't know if I'm just lucky or oblivious....but I honestly don't think I've ever once had the installed DLSS version reset on me after an update to the sim.

Every time I check DLSS swapper after an update, it still shows the latest version installed.  In this case...310.4.

Ok, tried it, don't see any difference in MSFS 20', how can you see if the latest DLSS is installed ?

Ok, help me with these moder GPU concepts, please 🙂

FS 2024 graphics options offers, for Anti-aliasing:

TAA (the one I use since quite a while because it ensures crisp detals in the gauges)

NVIDIA DLSS 4

AMD FSR 3

But then, down bellow this setting there's Frame Generation:

NVIDIA DLSS

AMD FSR 3

Well, since I have a RTX 3060 Ti and I don't want again to do more than using either the options in the new Nvidia App or DLSS swaper, what are my options, given that:

1) I am limited to 1920 x 1080 @ 60 Hz

2) I set max FPS to 30 in the sim graphics options, or using Riva tunner

?

Thx!

==> BTW, asking Copilot I get:

Best combo for your setup (RTX 3060 Ti, 1080p/60Hz, capped at 30 FPS):
Use TAA or DLAA for anti‑aliasing (to keep cockpit gauges sharp) and disable Frame Generation (since you’re already locking at 30 FPS and FG adds latency without benefit at 60Hz). DLSS can be used in Quality mode if you want a small GPU load reduction, but expect some blurring in instruments.

🔧 Detailed Recommendations for FS2024 SU4 on RTX 3060 Ti (1080p/30 FPS cap)

Anti‑Aliasing Options

  • TAA (Temporal Anti‑Aliasing)

    • Best balance of clarity and stability at 1080p.
    • Keeps cockpit gauges and text crisp.
    • Slightly heavier on GPU than DLSS, but at 30 FPS cap you won’t notice.
  • DLAA (Deep Learning Anti‑Aliasing)

    • Similar to TAA but uses DLSS’s AI upscaler for smoother edges.
    • Preserves clarity better than DLSS Quality mode.
    • Recommended if shimmering bothers you.
  • DLSS Quality Mode

    • Reduces GPU load, useful if you want higher terrain/object LOD.
    • Downsides: cockpit text and gauges can look blurred.
    • At 1080p, DLSS gains are modest compared to TAA/DLAA.

👉 Verdict: Stick with TAA or DLAA for sharp visuals. Use DLSS Quality only if you need extra GPU headroom for scenery detail.

Frame Generation (FG)

  • FG is designed for high refresh rates (120Hz+) and uncapped FPS.
  • At 30 FPS cap on a 60Hz monitor, FG adds latency and ghosting without benefit.
  • It also complicates frame pacing when combined with external limiters (RivaTuner).

👉 Verdict: Disable Frame Generation. It’s not useful at 30 FPS lock.

Supporting Settings

  • Render Scaling: Keep at 100% for clarity.
  • Terrain/Object LOD: Around 100–120 for smoothness at 3060 Ti.
  • Texture Resolution: High (Ultra is fine if VRAM usage stays under 8 GB).
  • Clouds: Medium–High (big GPU hit at Ultra).
  • Ambient Occlusion & Bloom: Medium or Off for performance stability.

🎯 Optimized Setup for You

  • Anti‑Aliasing: DLAA (or TAA if you prefer absolute sharpness).
  • Frame Generation: Off.
  • FPS Limit: 30 FPS via in‑sim option (simpler than RivaTuner).
  • LOD: 100–120.
  • Textures: High/Ultra depending on VRAM usage.
  • Clouds: Medium–High.

This combo ensures stable frame pacing, sharp cockpit visuals, and smooth performance without wasting GPU cycles on FG that won’t help at 30 FPS.

jcomm have you ever used frame gen?

Your 3060ti would benefit from it hugely. All this 'frame gen shouldn't be used at 30fps on a 60hz screen' stuff is nonsense.

Simply give it a try. Here's my locked to 30fps in game with 2 x frame gen applied. 60hz screen...

...and here's the same settings applied in 2020 on my old i7 3930k system with an rtx2070.

I'm sure A.I. advice can be wonderful...but not all the time.

Will give your settings a try DD!

One question: in order to do it you set DLSS as AA and in frame gen set it to Yes and factor 2 right? Do you have to change the game files using the swapper APP?

Thx!

I do have DLSS set as AA. 2 x frame gen to take my 30fps set in game upto my screens refresh rate.

I don't fiddle with game files or swapper apps.

Interestingly my details overlay says that I'm using 310.3 overridden by the Nvidia app even though 310.4 is installed and I've set the Nvidia app to use latest, though I'm new to the Nvidia app because it seems like the latest driver no longer supports G Force Experience.

Not sure if I need to uninstall nvidia Profile Inspector to solve it or there is something I've missed in the new Nvidia app.

Any thoughts, anyone?

Ok, l will try it, and I did give FG a try long ago, as soon as fs2024 was released, but the blurred instruments were a deception and I eventually gave up...

Since my RTX is not a 40 or 50 series I thought I had to update the game DLSS files using either the NVIDIA APP (which I now use) or the dlss swapper app because the sin always uses outdated versions?

Use TAA. You'll still get the benefits of frame gen.
