From the A2A Comanche Native 2024 Addendum Manual, regarding the GPSS unit:-

= exactly the same as the Aerostar, which also has this STEC-901 GPSS unit fitted.

I was wrong in my previous messages, the problem are not the GPS gadgets like a GTN, but coupling it with an older autopilot like their STEC-30, this is a very anachronistic choice from my point of view, a complete non-sense. Hoping that they will focus on the flight model in the future, leaving this GTN-STEC-30 combination to flight dreamers enthusiasts.

Agree with Urgent above.  In the first place, there's nothing at all wrong with the roll behavior when banging the yoke to the limit - that's exactly what a light airplane does.  I hate to say it, but

  • Again with the toys.  Don't want 'em?  Not appropriate for your missions?  No worries - don't use them, but that doesn't change what others are doing in the real world in many situations.  Such "toys"

At first, you didn't like modern avionics.  Now you don't like that modern avionics are made to work with an older autopilot.

How on earth is a converter, (made to take a digital signal from a GPS and change it into an analog signal, for a rate-based, analog autopilot), "anachronistic" or "a complete non-sense"?

The STEC-30 autopilot is not really old.  It's not like a 1970s Century or Navomatic unit.   It came to the market in 1998.   Not exactly ancient.

You object to, and dislike, some really odd things.

I suppose you want A2A to remove the GPSS unit now too, because you don't like it.

And so what, you'd like to remove me because you don't like and/or understand my opinions? 😁

No, I wouldn't like to remove you.  Your odd fixed opinions about hating random electronic items is highly entertaining! 😄

Rilassati. Non c'è bisogno di avere così tante opinioni negative.

With Sim Update 4, the default TBM and G3000 are now performing very well. The previous stutters are gone, making it a fast, precise, and genuinely flyable modern GA aircraft without any hybrid avionics compromises.

That said, my own quirky preference remains with the Comanche for its speed and classic appeal. I simply hope A2A prioritizes its flight model to fix the persistent "snap roll" behavior, much like the Fenix A320 team did so successfully with their aircraft ...and  before they attributed this to what they called my "inflexible" opinion.

PS: I think my English is better than your italian.

During all this talk about modern avionics and how you consider them toys and gadgets, you have not explained yet what you think is wrong with the flight model of the Comanche. Please enlighten us and the A2A team how one of the absolute best flight models out there could be improved.

Yep, that seems to be the only explanation.  Here's yet another thing that's "anachronistic" and "a complete non-sense" which actually exists in the real world and is used by STEC owners every day.   BTW for those not familiar, the GPSS unit is not required to make the STEC-30 work with a GPS unit, it simply makes it work better.  Without it, you basically use the AP like you would when tracking a VOR-based route, anticipating heading changes using HDG mode.  Ironic, no?

But of course!  In reality the ST-901 was produced because nobody wanted it and it's nonsense to use.  Only sim "flight dreamers enthusiasts" would ever come up with or use such a thing.  Or something.

(Cough)  I'm done.

If you review the previous messages, you will find the information you need. Sometimes the GPS users are just lazy.

Is there anything that you don't judge, emphatically, irrelevantly and negatively?

The world must be dark to be surrounded by such "problems" such as "the A2A Comanche flight model needing to be fixed"  ?

Don't bother answering.  Instead use that time to smile and be thankful.

I'm done with you - there is not a note of warmth or friendliness in your tone.  It's like you're looking down your nose at everyone else, with these "opinions" of yours.

Keep them.  I don't think we need or want them here.

To clarify: I bought this product twice, first the non-native version, then the native one. Yet, in response to my observations on the hybrid GPS/autopilot system, and the flight model problems , I was labeled a "hater", "fixated", "obsessed", "troll", "unfriendly." Happy New Year, I hope you enjoy your Comanche.

Claiming that those systems are "anachronistic" and "a non-sense", are not observations 😄

An observation is the acknowledgement of objective facts about something.

There is very little objective about your 'observations'.

I believe you are translating from your native Italian to English and back.

Do keep in mind that tone does not translate well. Perhaps in Italian you are saying things that are very reasonable and calm, but when you translate it to English I think you are losing the intention with which you type, and the words that the translation program chooses may not be doing you justice

If it is true that you are a reasonable person in real life, then you can understand that the translation is doing you bad. Or else you are in fact a more grumpy person in which case just ignore everything I typed

Yes, I'm native like the Comanche in FS24 now, but I don't need of translation aids because we are talking about flight simulators and not about Quantum Physics. I remember you that the subject of this topic is the A2A Comanche, not Claudius.
