Are you seeing default Aircraft Marshallers on arrival?

Featured Replies

Despite using GSX Pro I prefer the default Aircraft Marshallers which I had in 2020 then some time ago disappeared except in a few pay ware airports I forget now which and I thought they were default MSFS characters.   So on arrival I will use the arrival gate default ground would send me to.  This made me wonder if there is a flag or setting to reenable these at default airports?  Anyone else seeing default Aircraft Marshallers at arrival airports?

I'm not sure what you mean by default air marshallers. I create my flight plans after selecting free flight on the main screen, and when selecting my arrival airport I choose a gate or parking spot at that airport for my destination. When arriving and taxiing in to my chosen gate or spot I always have a Marshall guiding me in waiting for me. If I were to select a destination or arrival airport instead of a gate or spot at my arrival airport I am not sure if a Marshall would greet me or not. I do know that with the flight plan method I use I always have a Marshall waiting for me. Hope this helps you!

I fly GA and thus do not arrive at gates per se.  I routinely see marshalls beconing to guide me, but not always where I intend to park.  I say routinely because my scenery library is populated with a large number of freeware airports and I do not see marshalling at all of them.  Now I do frequent some payware airports like Dz's Chicago Midway (MDW), Latin VFR's Baltimore-Washington (BWI), UK2000's Indianapolis Exec. (TYQ) and their Orange County Ca (SNA) as examples. At those airports I do not see marshalling, but I am taxiing to and parking in GA parking areas and near hangers.

Hope that is helpful.

Same here, however, nowhere are marshallers showing up at my gates of arrival.

They are there at my airports.

Examples are default KTVL and addon CYYJ.

One of my settings might be wrong then. Will have to check them.

Yes this is what I'm wondering about also.   Only rarely is a guiding aircraft marshal present at my arrival gate or ramp except at some payware airports, and not all.  I'm wondering if there is a setting involved or an edit to a .opt file.  I use Simbrief for flight plans, but at arrival I use the taxi ribbon mod to send to the gate the default ATC sends me to, even though I"m not using default ATC.  I can open the ATC dialogue to learn verbally what the gate will be, but again th mod takes me there anyway.

Perhaps it might be the combination with the Fenix aircraft. I use them uniquely. Just a hunch.

There is an incorrect file structure possible which allows an addon airport to disable ground objects throughout the simulator, instead of just at the airport in question.
One way to find out would be to temporarily disable your Community folder by renaming it.
Then restart MSFS.
It will create a new and empty Community folder and you can go to any airport that you think lacks ground staff and see if they have returned.
Of course, you will have set the simulator to show them first.

Hmm, wonder if this could be GSX Pro?  I don't think I saw a 'declutter' option in the 2024 version though but that, I imagine, is something GSX could do.

I found that to get the default Aircraft Marshallers I had to raise the Characters Quantity to ultra and the Variety to high

I've had those both at Ultra/Ultra, but just noticed I had 'Airport Services' at Medium so just upped that to Ultra and am about to land at EDDH... 🤞

Marshallers only show up at parking spots the the default ATC assigns to you.

If you're using GSX it may delete them when you select the parking spot.

Yes, this is what I always get in MSFS but is not happening in MSFS2024, but is it true to that we must raise the Characters Quantity to ultra and the Variety to high?
