Anyone knows what is going on with SU5 beta ?

Yup, you're having so much fun with it, you have to constantly let everyone know that's your sim of choice.

On another note, I noticed some of you showing concern about Microsoft's transparency on the subject but I don't see an issue. They initially said "in the coming weeks" and the last thing the said on it was "soon". Something being weeks away is indeed soon. I wouldn't want them to give us a date if they haven't locked one down themselves. Let's be a little patient. SU4 is running great and if I'm not mistaken, SU5 will be the first update to focus more on content and feature delivery. The potential for things getting broken is even higher with that prospect and I suspect that's why they're taking their time with this one.

I am in no hurry for everything to break again 😂

  • The only thing I can find is https://www.flightsimulator.com/feedback-snapshot/ Not sure how up to date it is given some items are still marked as "in progress - SU4" etc. That said, issue #97 on

  • In my particular case, FS2024 performance is stellar with ultra settings, G-Sync 120fps, absolutely no complaints here, so kudos to all of Asobo/MS developers, they deserve a round of applause. Keep u

Now i am not saying there is nothing good in MSFS2024, there are definitely some major improvements from 2020. For example the removal of the dreaded Sepia in night time. But at the same time there is an issue with LOD exclusion which prevents using a nice product such as Darkstreets (which i don't know how Asobo didnt do that themselves !)

But IMO, a major thing in a flight sim is performance and smoothness. If i pan on the ground and every other time get a major full stop stutter, or get a full stop stutter just before landing, its destroying all the positive.

Hopefully SU5 will eliminate it. And as its getting delayed quite a bit, i sure hope it does !

I just went to the official forums to see if this is on the bug list for SU5 but I can't see the wishlist / bug lists anymore. They used to link to them on the weekly blogs but this week's doesn't have one. Anyone know where they are?

Funny, I have slightly lesser hardware, all Ultra, TLOD 200-400 scenario dependent, Render Scaling 140 and don't have any of that.  So with your comment I have to believe it's something to do w/ how you're setup.  Fabulously smooth everywhere at departure and arrivals here.  In fact just did a 10 min CapFrameX capture flying Fenix A320 into EDDF and frame time variance.  This is a pretty demanding arrival and this equates to veritable perfection in performance and smoothness--IOW you won't notice any problems even when scrutinizing:

I do not get any stutters when panning around in 2024. I do not get a major full stop stutter just before landing. I would if I had my graphics setting to high for my hardware. But I don't. So I don't have either of those issues.

Hopefully a fix for the grid lines in the sky you can see when using DLSS and it’s cloudy.

I have had this just recently in clouds and on terrain.

You do aware the devs confirmed the issue right ?

Not saying that this is your problem, but I found the only situation that I got stutters like that panning was when I had an older 2020 scenery add-on active.

There are variables that contribute to manifesting this such that some experience this way more or less than others.  That thread was started 4 months after 2020 launched so quite clearly it's been there in both sims essentially all along at some level.  Part of this will also have to do w/ how users use the sim:  I don't do a lot of panning while landing and taxiing, and when I do it's not brisk.   Here's a few exceptions from your thread:

I have Chase Plane and never experience any stutters or delays when changing views within the aircraft. However, if I switch from internal to say, nearest runway, there is sometimes a very short delay while the airport scenery loads. The airport could be some distance away so it won’t be in cache so it’s to be expected there’ll be a delay. Before I bought chase plane I didn’t have the problems others experience even with the 3080ti I had before upgrading last month to a 5090

--------------------------

It turned out to be the latest NVIDIA driver. I uninstalled it using DDU and reinstalled it. In the NVIDIA app, I set a profile for MSFS 2024 with DLSS override and Latest (M) model, and in MSFS 2024 I set DLSS to Quality, FG off, HDR on. After reinstalling the driver, the camera stuttering completely went away

---------------------------

In the time it took me to type the above I’ve just gone back to the sim and tried looking around and again, not a hitch. I count myself extemely fortunate but I don’t suffer from any stutters or freezes no matter where or what I’m flying. The only thing that I do get is the occasional micro stutter as scenery and/or traffic loads but they only last a fraction of a second, I wish they would go away too but that’s probably asking too much!
