I can’t wait for the Black Square Caravan Professional

Featured Replies

It’s really annoying how restrictive the 2024 career mode is when it comes to third-party add-ons, just to “protect” some silly leaderboard nobody cares about. This Caravan would be perfect for skydiving missions, cargo runs, sightseeing, etc., but it’s just not going to happen anytime soon.

I check the Just Flight forum daily to see if there are any updates. They mentioned that they'll be posting a development status update soon, and maybe even the manual. That would be perfect for custo

If you're looking for a other piston single, I think the Flysimware Lancair Legacy will fit the bill.  Not exact sure when it's supposed to come out.  But they are doing a g3x/glass and analog panel. Along with some different variants like NA and turbocharged reno racer style...  I simply cannot wait!!

Yes, that's going to be a good one, and a must buy.  Looking forward to it as well!

I hope we would have the option to buy just the cargo version. At least I would fly just that.

I actually flew Rockwell Commander for a little bit. Can’t remember anything prominent about it frankly

I check the Just Flight forum daily to see if there are any updates. They mentioned that they'll be posting a development status update soon, and maybe even the manual. That would be perfect for customizing the checklist to fit my needs. As someone else pointed out on the forum, I’ve also been waiting for years for a Super Cargo Master. I think the last decent one we had was the FeelThere version for FS9. The Carenado version for FSX was really nice, but way too basic. Beautiful, but lacking depth.

What’s truly amazing is that I never imagined we’d actually see a study-level Super Cargomaster. It feels like a dream come true. Finally, we’ll be able to simulate FedEx feeders operations in a realistic way.

I also want to give a shout-out to the Thranda Caravan for X-Plane. I think it’s an outstanding add-on. While I think it's to early to compare both of them, I suspect that in terms of turbine simulation and dynamics, it won't fall short at all. Unfortunately, it's lagging in many other areas, especially visually, with several glitches, including some pretty annoying ones in the panel (like I mentioned on their forum). It’s a shame that the developers aren’t planning to update it in the near future. It’s a fantastic addon to help pass the time until BS finally releases their version.

Anyway, you aren't alone. I can't wait too.

I am missing the Beech 350 steam gauge ...

Black Square has hinted that a ground-up version is on the to-do list.

The problem for me is that from what I can tell very few if any of these planes are still operating with full analogue gauges, are they?

MSFS 2024. Primary Planes: Black Square TBM850, Duke, Baron, Caravan; A2A Comanche; FSReborn Phenom; Fexix A321; PMDG 737-7, 777: Utilities: Active Sky (Passive Mode); BATC, FSLTL.

C208?  Oh for sure.  In the USA at least these are workhorses...  I've seen a few added GTN or GNS and some with G500 but I've seen plenty analog.

Fedex is using G600:

It's the only piece we need to create an almost exact replica of these feeders.

BTW, could anyone direct me to a copy of any kind of FedEx ops manual for the Caravan? I've been searching for one for years.

Thr entire fleet has been converted to G600?  When I used to work at my previous facility they had analog but that was like 7 years ago.

Thranda (Caravan for X-Plane) they should have continued their successful 9 year cooperation with Carenado, both very good at their respective area, but pretty low quality at the other.

From what I've seen, the earliest announcements about the upgrade program date back to 2010. Like this one:

I assume that since the market for Xplane is too small and they have to share the profits, it wouldn’t be profitable for both parties. Who knows? But I agree that their collaboration brought some great addons.
