How many years will go by I wonder before people don't feel the need to share this information any more? Are there still FS9 users popping up in the FSX forum from time to time to say how happy they a

  • Good for you. I enjoy 2024. Nothing I had specifically tuned except most settings on high and some ultra, some low or off (grass, flora, fauna etc as I fly exclusively airliners above  FL200). That‘s

  • I just cannot understand people who say this...

Stopped using 2020 in May.

Had to boot her up this week for reasons that don’t  matter.

I for one can't wait to go back to 2024.

There was nothing in 2020 that made me wish I was back in it

Like 2020, it took awhile to get 2024 to run just right, but I am quite happy with the results  right now.

MSFS 2024 -Too many airplanes to name. Too many airports to name.

MSFS 2020 was a fantastic sim. One of the best in the franchise and I hugely enjoyed it.

The operative word though is was.

It's a 5 year old platform that was essentially replaced well over a year ago.  2024 is superior in every area. That's not said to wind up any 2020 fundamentalists, it's my honest account.  The hugely reduced loading time for 2024 is reason enough to have moved on.   Add to that all the other improvements and it's a no-brainer.  Other than a small amount of users who say they keep 2020 installed for one particular niche addon, I really can't understand why anyone is hanging on to a deprecated sim.   At first I thought perhaps the reason was financial.  Then I remembered that I essentially use 2024 for free - as I access it from my the Gamepass sub that I pay for purely for my son.

There was no real rational reason to still be using FS9 in early 2008 (the same time period after the release of FSX, as we are now with 2024 replacing 2020), and two decades later, the same rationale exists IMHO.

But that's just a logical appraisal.  Anyone who for some reason wants to stay with 2020, should be left to do so freely.  I just wish they'd stop posting silly comments about 2020 being superior to 2024 😊 ... or naive questions, wondering whether everyone else has gone back to 2020!

2024 all the way for me!

But I'm missing the Majestic Q400 so much these days that I am tempted to install P3D, which I haven't had since 2020 was released.

After using both I can't go back to using 2024. 2020 does almost everything better for me. If I was bush flying I might feel different but for now 2024 is deleted. I will probably check it out again next year.
