June 11Jun 11 The 1.1.0 update is now out - though on Simmarket it looks to be a new product with a 100% discount if you have the original in the same account.simMarket: Flight Simulation Add-Ons - MSFS, P3D, FSX, XPLANEsimMarket: MI-2 HOPLITE MSFS20Current Version For Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 Digital Aeronautics Mi-2 v1 1 0 6 9 26 Changelog listed below nbsp Compatibility Notice Installation via nbsp simInstaller This product is designedHowever if you are planning to try it on '24 you may better waiting a short while till the official compatibility patch is out as I'm (entirely reasonably) running into a few issues with the new version on '24 (engines don't start and the wheel brakes don't work are the most obvious).Forget that. The engine start problem was entirely me forgetting how the things starts. There does seem to be a real brake problem though it looks to be with the Parking Brake which can be turned off by clicking on the stick but doesn't seem to able to be turned back on.That's more annoying than a critical issue though and even then will hopefully be resolved shortly with the compatibility fix. Tuesday at 08:56 AM2 days There's been a change of plans with the '24 version of the Mi-2.The idea of a '24 compatibility release for the current version has been dropped and instead there will only be a NATIVE '24 version. However the native version will be released in Early Access 25/6 (Thursday) and it will be FREE for anyone who bought the Mi-2 before 22nd June. The full details are in the Discord post herehttps://discord.com/channels/1453291062310469737/1453291062800945259/1518899698847449148And here's the roadmap they've published for '24 develpment

Now, they’re raising the early access base price 15%, and then gradually jacking it up to a 50% increase…? 😮?Technologically, this is in the same class as the early UH-1’s or early Bo-105’s. Seems kinda pricey for an all-manual/steam gauge VFR-only helo from a shop that’s produced nothing else…?With the MH-65/Daufin package from Taogs so close to release, I’m feeling like I’m gonna wait for that. Too many competing flight sim releases across the board to take a chance on an early access first addon release at those prices.
Tuesday at 06:38 PM2 days Yep $10 more than the Bo-105’s (which is also FS2024 native) for the final version of the Mi-2. FS2024 B777-300ER - B737-800 - A320 - A350 - A36 Bonanza - MBB BO 105
Tuesday at 10:20 PM1 day Me too, if they had revealed this pricing from the start I would already have it. Possibly they hadn't determined that pricing until recently.I am not surprised at the final price. An Mi-2 while wildly popular in Eastern Europe, in the overall scheme of things is a more niche product than say a UH-1 or even MBB Bo-105. An Mi-2 while wildly popular in Eastern Europe, in the overall scheme of things is a more niche product than say a UH-1 or even MBB Bo-105.I have a great time flying the Mi-8 in DCS and I like the idea of having a genuinely Hi Fi Mil for MSFS, too. Even if it’s “just” the little brother to the -8.The problem, IMHO, is that its going to remain a niche addon being priced that high.E.g., the DCS Mi-8 is on sale right now for $25, and those sales happen at least 4-6 times a year. and the Mi-8 in DCS can do a lot of stuff that no helo in MSFS can. I’m not saying the Mi-2 should be $25, but it definitely feels like the dev is mis-reading the market. IIRC, the majority of players are from countries where the Mi-2 just isn’t a thing, I.e., the entire world save former Soviet-aligned nations. What drives a lot of addon popularity is IRL familiarity. Add a relatively large price premium on top of that, and I don’t see this bird becoming a popular addon like the various western helos. Regardless of how well it’s simulated…🤷♂️

For all the reasons you said above, an MI-2 just does not hold my interest enough to pay that much for it. And yes, with another Taog aircraft on the horizon, it's too easy to decide to wait (for me) and bypass the MI-2. Would pay bigly for a CH-149, its too bad so many of the high quality paid ones are only for free flight (looking at you HPG).
