May 1May 1 A short but full-flight showcase video out and back from Catalina Island. The aircraft looks great, and seems to have some fairly deep modeling (even for a “simple” home built like this type 😉). One thing that catches my eye in the video is some of the flight model physics. Seems a little “jerky” and lacking fluidity/inertia…? Internal sounds seem very good, but external seem almost absent. This could easily be issues with replay, or could just be a ham-fisted sim pilot at the controls, and the addon is obviously heavily WIP, so these aren’t judgments, but rather observations. 🤙 Given how well their Lear has turned out, I have faith this will be another great addon. 🙏 Edited May 1May 1 by UrgentSiesta

Internal sounds seem very good, but external seem almost absent. I think the cameraman aka Momo had too much coffee during recording lol. It's definitely not the best video I've seen but it does show us some cool things like tires inflating. That being said the Lancair Legacy is extremely agile - but I just think it's the flyer in this case lol. And yeah I think the exterior sounds are still WIP. Overall the sounds are very much spot on for that kind of engine imo. I already got some paints started for it... seen here in 3d renders in Substance Painter. My plan is to make these available for the A2A as well. One can never have enough Lancair paints! Watching/listening to how the pilot taxis gave me the first hint that smoothness was not to be expected. If I ever taxied like that IRL (specifically, the all or nothing throttle control), my passengers would be airsick before we even left the ground! 🤑 That said, the plane and its systems are looking pretty good, especially for early days. Definitely on my "you've got my attention!" list. Scott
May 1May 1 Wow, this one looks better than I had expected. I like the "Seal Canopy switch" - I did not know this aircraft has such a feature. Cool to see this implemented! Best regards, Holger

Cool to see this implemented! Interesting related is (IIRC), even tho the canopy is front hinged, it will still pop open a few inches in flight if it’s not properly latched - “exciting”! 😮 And since the latch is behind the shoulders, it could easily catch you out if you don’t follow the checklist 😁

May 1May 1 WOW, it looks seriously impressive so far! I guess in some ways it's unlucky that both FSW and A2A are doing a high fidelity Legacy, but since the RealAir Legacy in FSX and P3D was one of my all time favorite add-ons, I can't wait to check them both out in MSFS!

That was my initial thought. Thankfully a2a is primarily doing the normally aspirated analog cockpit (with Garmin G5s as an option) and while FSW will have a similar analog they're also doing the glass version along with some turbocharged and reno racer variants. It's my dream come true 😂 | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |

May 1May 1 I think I would have change my underwear after flying with him. 😖 The World is divided into two groups. Those who say "Give me a link" and those that provide the link. WWG1WGA
May 2May 2 I'm really looking forward to those adjustable rudder pedals. They will be really neat since right now they're crammed right up against the wall under my desk. I wouldn't mind an extra inch or two of leg room.

There are others, of course, but those are the ones that come to mind when I think of which light GA’s make me want to fly them again 🤙 (And the A2A’s of course, but they’ve got external physics, so…) And in re the FSW Lear v2, tho it’s not a light GA, it’s quite nice, as well. Yeah, there are some great ones in XP, of course, but both sims have trade offs. With the above, we’re really getting into a great overall experience. 😎🤙
