I've just bought the Falco half an hour ago and it is really well done. From a quick circuit I'd say it's a definite keeper. I'd have liked the option to replace the GNS430 with the GTN but then again, in some ways, with the rest of the panel being analog, the 430 probably feels more realistic. There was one of these at the airfield in the UK where my first flying club was, when I got my licence 11 years ago. The panel was almost identical to this one, complete with the 430 but with no autopilot.

If you like exotic GA that punches above it's weight (170kts from a 180hp OI-360) I'd say this is a no-brainer for about $20 (it was GBP £18) 👍🏽

If there was no Lancair legacy I'd probably buy this. Definitely will consider it if they add a gtn 650Xi. The 430 is too clunky to operate with a mouse.

How are the sounds on this thing? How bout the flight model? It should be fully acrobatic.

Sounds are really good. High fidelity. It's a very impressive first release. Flies beautifully (a lot nicer than the new FSW Legacy, which feels really off on take-off and approach!). I have no RW experience of acrobatics but you can certainly chuck it around and roll it, if that's your thang 😎

It's not at all twitchy IMHO. It's responsive and light on the controls, but also has good natural stability and the weight feels right.

Hard to find any real squawks with it - other than the lack of custom options (GTN compatibilities).

I would describe this addon as like how a Carenado should be. Similar texture quality, better sounds, highly convincing FDE, but no bells and whistles / custom tablet / options.

For less than $20, if you like piston singles, I'd personally say it's a must-have.

Thanks for the report! It's interesting you find the legacy's flight model off. Although it is a semi light aircraft it's got that critical wing and therefore approach speeds and general flying speeds need to be much faster than what you're probably used to in LSA's. I worked with a gentleman at my old airport on the Aerobask Legacy in XP12 - he flies a legacy as well. The FSW feels very similar to the Aerobask which is correct imo. Even with a lighter weight I tend to approach the airport not much slower than 140 kias (clean). That would be my lowest speed in the pattern especially while banking. On final the gear comes down and then add some flaps to maintain no slower than 100 kias till short final.... I might not have full flaps with a gusty crosswind, maybe 3 notches, crossing the threshold around 85-90 at the slowest.... touchdown maybe 80 or so. If you're heavy I'm touching down around 90ish knots. If you get slow it will just drop like a brick.

I don't have any joystick curves or anything setup. My old force feedback 2 sidewinder, but I did buy new winwing orion pedals which are really nice.

I find it to taxi on the ground really nicely - it's got that free castoring nose wheel which can be tricky at first.

I may yet try the Falco. I had one in XP10 I think and it was really nice to fly.

See, isn't that strange. I don't feel the FSW feels anything like the Aerobask! I found the Aerobask to be sensitive but with much more natural stability. Perhaps it's a XP versus MSFS thing... but we'll not go there! 😄

There is a lot to like about the FSW. I just haven't yet found a method to execute a satisfying take off. I'm completely open to it being a lack of skills on my part!

There's a somewhat random dedicated electrical switch for the TC, as part of the switchgear, that is very easy to miss. And if you miss it, the turn co-ordinator won't work!

That's why I can't watch his videos either. He makes so many mistakes yet gets touchy when people point them out in the comments.

Yes it’s a 24 hour rental and then if you buy the rental payment comes off of the purchase price.

I also like the free trials , I had a go with a Swissmilsim jet and decided I’d just saved myself money as I would have regretted buying it.

The sounds are excellent, really nice in fact. The flight model is very spritely, I’ve tried some loops and rolls and it handles that very well.

I’m also finding it very sensitive on the controls, quiet possibly realistic but I think I’ll look at tweaking my joystick curves, It’s also a little difficult to slow down, again possibly realistic, but I find myself having to use the gear as airbrakes.

Nice feeling cockpit in VR, great visibility and a big clear IFR panel.

The aircraft does look nice and hopefully there will be more reviews. I do perfer developers to have some sort of social media presence for communication with users. I see this one just has email on their website. It will be interesting to see what support and development it gets in the future. I would have thought it was an ideal candidate to have one of the new Avidyne units as an option to replace the Garmin 430.

Overly sensitive and not slowing down quickly enough seem to be problems with a lot of small aircraft in msfs.

My comment was in reference to @sd_flyer asking "Is nobody going to talk about the stuck turn co-rdinator?".

I think it was reasonable to point out - (in a brand new product that people could potentially be put off from buying) - that the TC is not broken, and that it was simply another ommision by this YouTuber? It's my experience that he makes a lot of misunderstandings, mistakes and ommissions, yet portrays himself as something of a general aviation expert.

"It's just a first look video" is not an excuse for posting a video with many inaccuracies and misrepresentations. Especially towards a new developer.
