You can rent it for the price of a cup of coffee. Like I said earlier, I would really recommend that first if you are interested in it, rather than diving in and buying it outright.

And IIRC the cost of the rental subtracted from the price of the aircraft. So if you do decide to buy it, it won't be full price.

It was in my hangar for five minutes - I don't even want to try it for 24 hours, it's that poor. Bugs can be fixed (except this is an Asobo product now so .........) but texture resolution this low is there for a reason and it's not for the benefit of PC users so that will stay, I'm sure. It would have been a huge shock if this was as good as it could have been but still, I wasn't expecting it to be this bad. Rent it first guys!

For $25…? Can’t possibly imagine it’s worse than the M500, and certainly must be better than what I’m regularly flying in X-Plane.

In any case, for $16.49, I’m certainly willing to “take a chance” as soon as I get home from the beach. 😎

I'm afraid that is how it's being adopted.

I was on the FSR Discord last night and a few commented on how there is no new 'M600' section of the Discord server, and someone (I don't know if part of FSR or not) said that any and all bugs and changes will need to be fed to MS via Zendesk, and they will need to (exact quote) "give Raul more $$ for any changes to the existing release".

So it's definitely positioned as a separate, 1st party release from MS. It's also notable that Raul hasn't joined any discussion on the M600 on there at this point. That's not a judgement, just an observation, before anyone gets upset! When the FSR 300E released Raul was all over it.

I think it will be problematic as there are some small issues and potential bugs or changes. I don't think we're going to see these addressed quickly by FSR and rolled into early updates. The M600 is firmly part of the "MS machine".

I can agree with some concerns, and indeed I’ve had some since it was announced as a 1st Party Addon.

But TBH this isn’t an FSR production, so I don’t know why anyone would expect it to appear in FSR resources.

I can’t possibly imagine that the dev contract doesn’t have provisions for at least a few rounds of bug fixes.

Not to mention that this is built on the historically excellent M500, anyway.

Yea, I got the impression both from the developer live stream a couple of months ago and from Jorg's comment introducing that Raul that this was a lot of intense last minute work to make the FSExpo deadline. It may be that it needs and will get some updates after the Expo. Raul must have been all out getting both this and the Phenom out the door in the past month.

OK, so I can't find a manual, I guess there's no EFB, and I can't get the engine covers/prop covers off....chocks are OK..... I guess I got suckered.

This is not automatically a bug. There are many IRL AT systems that work like this that this may be simulating (we do a similar thing with the Longitude AT).

In many ATs of this class, the AT servos are on friction clutches which are actually designed to slip. IRL the pilot can push against the AT to make a quick adjustment of the throttle if needed and the clutches just slip intentionally. When the pilot has removed pressure, the AT returns to the previous commanded position. This does not automatically disconnect the AT.

Yes, I completely understand and appreciate that, in the real world. But in the sim, if the AT doesn't disable the throttle axis it tends to get upset quickly. That's why a number of addons like the PMDG have an option to prevent throttle axis movements disconnecting the AT.

It may be that I have a 'noisy axis' on my throttle, but the only way I can get correct AT behaviour with this plane is by hard-jamming the throttle at either idle or full-forward. It then won't disturb the AT, but the downside is that when I disconnect the AT for landing, it's in a non-aligned position.

Unfortunately from my perspective, while it is based on the M500, more has been removed than added.

It flies well and the sounds are great. But personally I'm disappointed and regret the purchase. I would simply never choose to fly this over the M500. To me it feels like a default aircraft level, 'lite' version of the full-featured M500.

just going on hearsay.

This thread is full of screenshots from me, and technical descriptions of the systems bugs, from St Mawgan.

Those are direct reports. Where is the hearsay? Ridiculous comment.

As ever with you, if you're happy and don't notice issues, then they don't exist 😄

For $16.xx I'm also happy. Mostly because it seems to fly well, especially in crosswind landings, and has good sound quality...for me, that's 75% of the way there in what's important to me, personally.

The 2nd rate textures in & out aren't horrific enough to bother me at this low price. Heck if FlightOne was selling this it would probably cost double what it's currently selling at.

I didn't realize that this was going to be a "lesser product". I thought since it was FSR and I watched the MS video about it a month or 2 ago, that it was going to be at least at the same quality levels as the FSR500- or better...because that's the impression they gave you in the video. So in that way I feel a bit taken, however, when taking the cost into consideration it's still an excellent value... I DO think it's a strange decision for FSR to have products of varying quality...that hurts a brand in my eyes and I'd more expect something of this from the likes of Carenado, tbh. But yea, it's still a notch above Carenado no doubt...maybe not texture wise but in other ways.

...I think some would be happy with this aircraft. At least for those who have similar priorities as mine when it comes to sim aircraft (strong flyer, strong sounds) and don't care as much about textures and all the ancillary extras (like efb, passengers, etc.).

Rent it, because if you end up buying it afterward then the rental fee ends up costing you nothing. If you don't like it then you end up blowing the cost of gallon of gas for the right to putz around in it for a day.

Have you tried clicking them in walk around mode?

I was able to get them off... try clicking on other places - try the right side of the plane too. The walkaround stuff has been quirky depending on if you're in the SU5 beta -at least it has been for me.

Same as you with NAV mode not being shown, AT indicates being on but doesn't show target speeds, AP in general connecting and disconnecting, buttons on right MFD not working at all, issues with trim not responding or not holding, unable to bind the condition levers. Those come to mind in my two short flights before I disabled it.

TimHH showed me a pic of his FMA showing AP modes just fine from today - maybe we got a corrupted streamed version? We could try to delete the addon and reload it perhaps.

Curious how it compares to the M500 in your opinion…?

I don't think it's a fair comparison as the M500 is strictly an FSReborn product. The M600 is, well, made for Microsoft, on behalf of FSReborn. It's intentionally made at a certain standard (set by Microsoft).

I want to just mention something to be transparent before I say the next part. I was offered a free copy of the Phenom 300E with the intention that I would make some free community paints - which I happily did, and thought that was a very reasonable offer from Raul. I've met Raul yesterday at the Expo (and again today). He is a wonderful human overall. Aside from this, I've got no other connection to FSReborn. I own most of their products which I purchased myself (aside from the Phenom). I've also painted a few FSR500 paints for free (but did not receive the FSR500 for free)- I love that aircraft - bought with my own hard earned cash.

Anyway, I actually met Jorg yesterday as well - he is also a wonderful human. I jokingly said I bought 2024 on Day 2 - because well, we all know what happened on day 1 - and he LAUGHED! Not like a nervous laugh, a real laugh - he's really down to earth and he's passionate about the MSFS franchise. There's so much legal red tape and garbage that we mere mortal simmers are not privy to (and that's fine). Now this part is my rant: It is not against FSR but more directed towards Microsoft. In my opinion, Microsoft is strongly advising developers with whom they have a close relationship to, to "downgrade" the quality of textures, in favor of console. Xbox S and X CANNOT run 2024 the way a PC with a RTX 5090 and 9800X3D with 64GB ram will ever be able to (or even a much more mid tier system like my 12700K and RTX 4080). I'm really EFFING tired of PC users getting visually downgraded products because of Xbox. But my 8utt-hurt feelings don't matter because money always comes first. I'm saying this honestly...because Microsoft is a business and they need to make money. The Xbox (and now PS5) sales ARE THE REASON WE STILL HAVE MSFS. This is not conjecture, it is a fact, stated by multiple 1st party persons. The Phenom released with beautiful 4k textures - and Raul HAD TO reduce them to 2k. The amount of console complainers was through the roof! Its a poopy situation for us niche PC people... but he had no choice. The same happened on the M600. It was created with beautiful 4k textures. It HAD TO be reduced to 2k to save VRAM on Xbox.

How does it compare to the M500? Some things are better like the G3000, Garmin GI-275 stby gauge, autothrottle and autoland (HALO), the 5 bladed prop with different performance characteristics, the M600 is a little faster in climb and cruise. IMHO, t's not as well-rounded as the M500. It was never intended to be! I'm just going to speak plainly here. I believe the developers of these "joint-style" addons are meant to create watered down versions. If FSR made an FSR600, it wouldn't have looked like this. Things were designed at a certain level, a level much lower than the FSR500, intentionally - this level is set by Microsoft and NOT FSReborn. And to make matters more difficult...textures were downgraded even more... so we have what could have been a visually stunning addon, dropped to almost pre-MSFS visuals (in a few areas but the majority is MSFS standard imo).

I still think the asking price is well worth it. IMO it's not that buggy like some are claiming. It may be a streaming issue as TimHH was showing me a pic of his plane and his AP modes were all working fine. Some of the complaints are user errors. There was a guy on their discord saying it went left on takeoff. AHHH...yeah derp derp dude! It's a massive engine with a lot of torque!

I was expecting an upgrade to the M500 which I generally enjoy. In all honesty it's a huge downgrade and I'd say that unless you really need a few extra knots, this purchase is not worth it, if you have the M500. For the £23 I paid for this in it's current form, I'd rate it 2 stars.

It's a downgrade to the M500 in terms of textures, functions, immersion and bugs. It's an upgrade in sounds.

I see the same low res skins, EXCEPT with the Default FS Reborn skin - that doesnt' seem to be affected in the same way.

There's also some notable flattening to some of the access doors, etc.

In terms of the interior and such my only real disappointment is the instrument coaming. But then again, it's disappointing in the M500 too. At least here, we can choose a color to be disappointed with ;)

If you set resolution to ULTRA you should be good.
