Just a head's up regarding textures.... ULTRA vs HIGH is a large difference on the glareshield for some reason. ULTRA doesn't seem to affect much else vs high (exterior is the same) but the glareshield area is right in your face so people would instantly see it pretty low res at HIGH.

I've found this too.

The differences in quality with this aircraft's textures between MEDIUM and ULTRA texture resolution are severe.

No doubt this was invoked by MS to drag down 2024's visual quality further to appease some console users.

I would have happily paid the same money to have a 2024 native version of the M500 instead. Is it ever going to be updated? I keep reading that the developer is a perfectionist but they seem to be happy to keep the 500 within 2020 limits when 2024 offers so much more.

The M500 is at least three years old now. He can't keep updating everything for free when he has new planes to build.

I don't think St Mawgan necessarily meant a free update. (Although many devs have updated their products to 2024 standards without cost, as part of QoL and providing value to purchasers).

The Sting S4, Sirius TL-3000 and M500 are all lacking 2024 features. That puts FSR towards the bottom of a queue of devs that have updated their products for 2024. SWS were very slow to update too, but they're changing that now. There was an update to their PC12 two days ago, to add a new weather radar. A free update. Some of the FSR aircraft have bugs that have never had updates. I pointed one of these out to Torsen on here (extremely blurry GMC507 AP panel on the Sirius, due to a LOD issue). He said this would be looked at but I've lost faith that these products will ever be further improved, because the developer is too busy pushing out new products, like the 300E and the M600.

There's a phenomena here where providing critical feedback about FSR is seen as a no no. "He's a great guy". Yes, he is! But there are real points of dissatisfaction with some of the FSR products that could easily be addressed to provide QoL for purchasers (like the blurry AP panel in the Sirius).

The fact that, 2 years into it's release, we don't have MSFS 2024 features in the Sting S4, Sirius TL-3000 and (to a lesser degree) the M500 (because you can at least open the doors from the outside) is disappointing.

The Xbox (and now PS5) sales ARE THE REASON WE STILL HAVE MSFS. This is not conjecture, it is a fact, stated by multiple 1st party persons. The Phenom released with beautiful 4k textures - and Raul HAD TO reduce them to 2k. The amount of console complainers was through the roof! Its a poopy situation for us niche PC people... but he had no choice. The same happened on the M600. It was created with beautiful 4k textures. It HAD TO be reduced to 2k to save VRAM on Xbox

It's a strange situation really. I've barely bothered to even turn on my sim pc for weeks now. MSFS2024 still looks pretty good by any real objective measures, but it just doesn't feel as good as it did (visually). When I do fire it up (usually to apply the latest batch of updates for my ridiculously large collection of add-ons) I regularly feel a combination of both incredibly impressed and incredibly disillusioned, largely depending on where I'm flying.

Some places are still breathtaking, but others feel increasingly annoying due to issues like the dreaded PG tree blobs, LOD issues and scenery popping and suchlike and these problems are not being improved, in fact they feel worse in lots of ways.

I've stopped buying scenery/airport add-ons at this point. I've bought a couple of planes (Phenom for example) and might yet get myself the Lancair Legacy, but to be honest I get more pleasure nowadays just sitting with a book and listening to music. I've got way too much invested in the sim to just abandon it, and wouldn't want to anyway, but it is more of a disappointment than a thrill now. I may yet end up spending the bulk of my simming time back in the other sim, or even the other other one.

Ryzen 9 7900X, Corsair H150 AIO cooler, 64 Gb DDR5, Asus X670E Hero m/b, 3090ti, 13Tb NVMe, 8Tb SSD, 16Tb HD, 55" Philips 4k HDR monitor, EVGA 1600w ps, all in Corsair 7000D airflow case. Sims in use - 2020, 2024, XP-12 and -11, FSX/SE, P3Dv4.5 and v5.4. DCS and AFS2 installed but rarely used

I had a bit of a revelation this morning.

While investigating the very low texture quality I have in the M600, I was thinking about streaming but then remembered that I have downloaded this aircraft in My Library.

I deleted the download and then disabled / enabled the M600 in my streamed content in the Library.

Rebooted the sim and the external textures have improved. It's still not great, and when I tested what the textures look like on MEDIUM I was shocked.

So there may be an issue where downloaded textures are being capped low, whereas streaming is providing a higher LOD or texture quality. The difference isn't huge but it's noticeable.

It's interesting how some users have commented on the low price of the M600. It's only a low price if you have Aviators Edition or Premium Deluxe. I paid £23 for the M600 (around $28) and don't find what's offered good value for a default-level aircraft.

Granted with a modest discount, I just bought the FFX Citation X for the same price.

They really do!

I have learned my lesson, that criticism of FSR - no matter how rational or justifed - will not be tolerated by some here!

I judge a product based on the product itself and how it is updated and bugs addressed. Not because the developer happens to be a nice guy.

I honestly find the M600 a huge disappointment, mostly because I was looking forward to it so much. I thought it would be a natural evolution of the excellent M500 product. Instead, it's very much default aircraft level, and arguably has less functionality than the default TBM930. I absolutely don't think this is worth £23 and I will be much more selective when future FSR products are released. Just my opinion and YMMV of course!

I know, I have noticed that also and not just from those that get free copies. I've also noticed that on Discord and other forums, when there is any praise, the developer is a one man band, doing everything himself, working so hard for the community, but when any legit issues are reported suddenly 'the team' will look into it or someone will talk to the person who does the modelling or the person who does the textures or the sound etc and 'I' becomes 'we' very quickly!

I'm also very aware that if this release had been provided by a number of other developers in it's current state, complaints would be ringing out from here until Christmas but in this case we are told it was always going to be a cut down version or 'what do you expect for that price'. The free passes suddenly appear.

I will happily rent it again in the future if I see it has been improved and I will reinstall or purchase an upgrade for the 500 if and when it is ever made 2024 native but until then, my hangar is full of amazing aircraft, done properly by developers who would never dream of selling out.

0SR loyalist, but I took the M600 on a 2-hour flight just to test it and see what it does. After TO, I hand flew it to 2000 ft. At 2000 ft, I trimmed it to fly level flight, which it did. I then set altitude to 5000 ft, turned on the AP and auto throttle, set speed for 130k and pressed FLC and the plane did a 130k throttle climb to 5000 ft and leveled off. I set Alt to 10000 ft and it achieved the same without issue. Heading mode did not drifted at all. I tried the direct to function to nearest airport, picked a rwy, choose the approach and arrival and pressed activate. It flew the 20 miles back to airport and programed in the decent step climbs and it followed the terminal procedures and decent profile all the way to the rwy and I was able to land it quite easily. I'm sure the plane has bugs but nothing to stop it from doing what it supposed to do. The textures look fine on my system (I didn't hold a magnifying glass up close), but I don't care about what the ceiling textures looks like, it flew and performed as should. I can wait on whatever other bugs folks don't like.
