Can VOX-ATC use weather data from Active Sky? - VoxATC has an option to use live weather. If this is not selected, it will use the very limited weather data local to the user available from the sim. Active Sky is usable as well, (including historic weather, if it is set in Active Sky.)

  • We already covered this before. Please respect the answer you were given earlier Vaughan. I do remember your somewhat abrasive comments in the by now ancient P3D forums.... let's not go there please.

  • Everyone's entitled to an opinion, no quibbles about that. There are other ATC apps out there sure, and if you find they work better for you, use them! 🙂 We won't be bashing any of them, the more o

  • Well you have me. You can take advantage of that, or not, your choice 🙂

Hey Kevin

Quick question for you..

Will there be phaseology differences when transiting different geographic regions e.g tower comms in the US vs Europe?

To avoid any confusions the developer should answer the questions on his product and further intentions.

Why is that for you to decide. Get the information or dont. I am not involved with VoxATC but I think your comments are very negative and demanding.

Absolutely yes. The app architecture is designed to support this. So if there are differences that aren't already covered we can look at how to explore implementing them.

Thanks for that. Vaughan knows I'm here to answer questions. If there's something I don't know and can't answer be sure I'll talk with the dev and find out. I don't find any questions too demanding, sometimes how things come over is just down to personalities and that's ok 👍. It's also fair to say that overly negative comments aren't ok but honest constructive criticism is totally fine!

That regional phraseology answer is good to hear. For offline IFR, that sort of detail matters to me almost as much as the voices themselves, because it changes how believable the whole flight feels once you start crossing between Europe and the US.

One thing I'm curious about is airport/runway configuration. Will VoxATC mostly take the runway choice from live weather and the sim, or will the user be able to influence which runways/procedures are actually in use? Bad runway choices can spoil an otherwise decent ATC session pretty quickly.

A really good question. Out of the box Vox will assign a runway based on the weather in use. For a lot of airports and users that will be sufficient.

But VoxATC will ship with an advanced runway selection tool, which will allow users who want to exercise A LOT of control over runway allocations the power to do that, for any airport. The tool will enable users to define which runway is used for both arrivals and departures, depending on user specifiable factors including:

  • Times of day

  • Wind direction and strength

  • Cloud coverage

  • Visibility

  • Aircraft weight

  • Arrival/destination direction arcs

  • Flightplan types

Is this VoxATC product / video (in beta October 2023 in Avsim post) the same one now in this forum topic?

It is the same application, in name. It is absolutely not the same version I'm using today, given that two and a half years has elapsed in-between. Where did I say there had been no development in that time? Come on, use your head please mate.

Vaughan, I have been very patient and answered all your questions with a massive degree of civility. If you ask serious questions I'll be happy to answer them, but I'm not going to waste my time or anyone else's responding to daft questions. Please consider that a polite and fair warning.

Agree. It seems one person dominates this thread that makes understanding this thread much more difficult for everyone else. Perhaps that person can save all their valid questions and make them in ONE post, please.

I admire your patience Kevin.😉

I think you have been beyond patient @kevinfirth . I have no idea why he would but the questions @vonmar has been asking seem more like trolling than genuine interest in or curiosity about the software. Numerous unrelated questions with zero feedback or reaction.

I welcome another competitor in the MSFS ATC arena and will certainly be interested in trying VoxATC on release.

Perhaps a moderator would be so kind as to collate that persons questions in one post for us please, in order to make it easier for others to read? @Ray Proudfoot

I just wanted to verify it was the same beta test product and no other videos that I missed since your last post in that topic (February 29, 2024).

Note:
I had first checked the VOXatc user to user forum on Avsim you mentioned earlier then lastly did a search and found the video link I posted.
