I am loving this helo too, but I am also having a NAV/GPS issue. Not necessarily a TDS GTN issue, but when in NAV mode and following GPS guidance, I have everything set up properly, but the CRS in the ADI cannot be adjusted so my helo keeps going due north. HDG mode works fine, and I can adjust the HDG bug in the ADI. But once I am in NAV mode, the CRS bug cannot be adjusted. I asked about this on the Taog discord, and I was told they are looking into the issue as others have reported it too. Not sure if that is the same problem that @ryanbatc is having.

Overall though, this helo is amazing and I have only delved into the AS365 so far. So much to dig into!

Once they fix the TDS integration, this definitely gives off H160 vibes to me. I miss HPG and I hope Dave is doing okay. The 160 was my favorite automated helicopter of any sim, ever. But I could see this taking the 160's spot for best helicopter of all time!

It has the better of two worlds, you can fly it fully automated or, if you prefer that day, you can fly it fully manual.

After flying it in SAS mode It's very difficult for me to go back to the Hughes 🥲

I note that he, too, is experiencing some jerkiness when switching into or among Upper Modes.

And the helo definitely doesn’t appreciate Fly Through mode as yet.

Maneuvering with Trim Interrupt works great, tho, so I’m sticking with that for now

so far, I’m just using alt and heading holds like an old school mil jet, and that seems to be working well.

The MH-65 USCG helo has a much different AFCS, and it seems like Matt might work on another video covering that. 👍

The FLY-THROUGH OFF is in green like SPRING CENTERED JOYSTICK or in grey like REDUCED TRIM SENSITIVITY?

Confused me too. I thought turning it off would mean ot no longer worked…(which is literally what it says 😂)

Temporarily override the attitude set thru trim. You can slowly turn and/or pitch(?) and the bird will hold the new attitude/direction. Much easier than trim release and reset

Useful for fine adjustments or gradual course changes, but not regular maneuvering.

I found problem of my troubles. Usually when I set up hardware profile it automatically associated with all aircraft variants. But this is not the case with AS65, because I mixed with profiles. And when I discovered it, I had to associate AS65 profile for each variant .

Now helicopter flyers as expected, so I’m happy camper

Not seeing any mention of the rotor coning here yet but I believe it merits discussion, or at least some appreciation.

This has got to be some of THE finest conulation I've encountered yet (and that's after many hours in the DCH Hind, even). I mean, seriously, how cany anyone not spend at least half their flight in external view admiring the conage. Rich, abundant glorious coniferous conation for days on end. I don't mean to be rude or crude here but it, it.... it's pure unadulterated rotor pron.
