Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth
And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;

Absolutely true!

My computer: ABS Gladiator Gaming PC featuring an Intel 10700F CPU, EVGA CLC-240 AIO cooler (dead fans replaced with Noctua fans), Asus Tuf Gaming B460M Plus motherboard, 16GB DDR4-3000 RAM, 1 TB NVMe SSD, EVGA RTX3070 FTW3 video card, dead EVGA 750 watt power supply replaced with Antec 900 watt PSU.

Not a good comparison. 😁 Both propulsion methods result in fast cars. The noisy version is just more thrilling for some.

Personally, I'm really enjoying driving my daughters Toyota hybrid. Good performance, easy to drive, comfortable and economical. I dont need the roar of a V8. 😄

I love those old American muscle cars. I used to race the Ford Mustang all the time in GT Legends and the Power & Glory 3 mod for GTR2.

LOL I drive my old Austin Healy 3000 in Forza Horizon.

Austin Healys, MGs, Triumphs and the like! My 52 Ford with dual carbs and exhaust and loud mufflers. Or my brother's MGA.

Take me back, take me back, to the place I belong!

The tires are worn.  The shocks are shot.  The steering is wobbly.  But the engine still runs fine.

I treated myself to my first new car last year. Honda Civic e-hev Sport. It’s a full hybrid. Lovely to drive and looks great too.

Averages 60mpg.

The main issue is: does it have a trailer hitch.

5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB  PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. Crystal Light VR.

After landing, he backs the truck and trailer down the boat loading ramp and pilot taxies up to and onto the trailer. And they drive home.

That's a lovely car, Ray. The Honda system is the same tech as my daughters Toyota, an eCVT transmission.

Great to drive, good performance, very economical and nice and smooth to drive.

Good choice ! 👍

@martin-w , thanks. I’d had my brother’s Civic for 17 years and nothing ever went wrong with it. I was ready to switch from manual to automatic which of course is mandatory for hybrids.

Yep, I was used to manual transmission too, driven manual my whole life. After getting used to this I'd never go back to manual, now.

I believe your car has two electric motors, bet its pretty nippy of the mark?

Correct. The torque is incredible compared to petrol engines. It has a 0-60 time of 7.9 secs.

One of its most useful features is Brake Hold. When you’ve been used to a clutch and handbrake for 50 years it’s a revelation. 😁

Do hybrids need to be recharged, or does the combustion engine take care of that?

Yep, same for our Toyota, electronic handbrake engages automatically in Park and disengages when you drive. No hill starts required.

7.9 seconds is nice, ours is 9, but the torque from the electric motor makes it feel faster.
