We used to be able to put our own startup video into fsbase/video to replace the default [cheesy] MSFS one. This has stopped working on the MS Store version (apparently it still woks on the Steam version).

Any ideas, folks?

Assuming you're talking about the title screen that leads up to the "Start now" button appearing then it's working on mine I'm on the MS store version Adam.

Although my video "PressStartVideo-4K.mp4" is in \Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024\Content\VIDEOS.

Yes, it's still working at my end too. But you have to re-restore the dummy video after each MSFS2024 update. I just did it yesterday and the annoying "seen it 2,000 times" video is gone! 😎

UPDATE: I've got it back - many thanks!!!

The problem goes back to a bad location on that flightsim.to page:
XboxGames\Limitless\Content\Packages\fs-base-videos\Videos ... when it should be (as you say):

[.....]\Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024\Content\VIDEOS

I'll put a comment on the author's FS.to page (he's on Steam).

So relieved to have it sorted (thanks). I even had the correct location in my notes, but chose to ignore it, thinking that the author had discovered the location may have changed with SU6.

So ... all's well that ends well!

It's funny how different people get annoyed about different things. I get annoyed when I see misaligned runway centreline markings or low resolution textures. Others are annoyed by the video played when MSFS 2024 loads 😉 For the record, I have never been bothered by the startup video.

You're quite right of course. It's a trivial thing (the video). I was just curious as to why it had stopped working. I'd grown quite attached to my own Spitfire-themed video ;).

The Spitfire certainly sounds more interesting 🙂

I have been using the intro MP4 from the Stanley Parable video game... very appropriate.

Watching that same video, time after time after time certainly bothered me. And plenty others too - the replacement file has over 2,000 downloads.

Are you just switching one video for another your going to watch a thousand times.

Maybe I will check it out. Is there a site where you can download videos that would work well with this..

I like the intro video where General Patton pounds the podium and reminds us to love every Microsoft Asobo sim update, and never complain.

I let the AI generate me a static "video" of an image of my choice that I like more than the default loading video. Thanks for the heads up.
