  1. Lights such as those are present in a Lights section, not the Electrical section. Take a look at a default aircraft (or other aircraft) for the details.
  2. Thanks guys, I appreciate it. It's little things like your comments that keeps me going. Take care,
  3. Hi, I don't know what you mean by FSX-11 and FSX-12. If you mean FSX-12 is DX10 Preview Mode, then FS9 aircraft will not display properly - uncheck that. For the first problem, the name in the Select Aircraft menu is based on one of the entries in the fltsim.n section of the plane's aircraft.cfg file. The image displayed is the thumbnail.jpg texture in the plane's texture folder.
  4. Thanks for the vote for CalClassic scenery - while we don't use all the fancy visual effects (no sattelite images for 1962 that are clear enough!), I'm glad it made the list.
  5. Hi, While the FSDeveloper site is having DNS problems, you can access the site by going to: http://173.233.77.148/forum/ Hope this helps,
  6. Sorry, can you explain what you mean by "split each table separately"? In the code, in FS, or somewhere else?
  7. There are two ways to get that. 1. Put these parts into the VC model itself, arranged so when you go to that wing view, they appear as you desire. You would need the VC source code for this. 2. In FS9, use 2D images to create the same effect (not possible with FSX and beyond).
  8. What I do: 1. Modify eyepoint in aircraft.cfg file to get proper VC view (only way to do that). 2. Modify views in panel.cfg file to get the proper 2D view. Hope this helps,
  9. Thanks. I was editing the terrain.cfg file recently to make some other changes and happened to see them then.
  10. Hi, If you're not using UT, right at the top of the terrain.cfg file (in your main FS9 folder) is this kind of thing: //Stream Lines [Texture.1024] // stream lines / unknown / perennial Type=1 Size=4 ExcludeAutogen=1 MaskClassMap=3 Textures=RiverSU.bmp offset=-10 I assume that last line means there will be a 10 ft trench. Try making that offset= number closer to 0 to minimize it? Restart FS to see the changes. There appear to be two of them, both at the top of the file.
  11. Make sure the Addon Scenery folder is not Read Only, or some other setting? Make sure you didn't move the Addon Scenery folder?
  12. Can we see the exact line in the panel.cfg file that lists the missing HSI? Have you moved, renamed, or deleted the default 747?
  13. I changed mine to look *exactly* like his screen and it worked well.
  14. Hi, I got a new graphics card (560ti - yes, not top of the line) and thought I would set up my FSX to the same level as my FS9 setup. So I installed my California 1962 scenery (the new v2 beta version - we at CalClassic are still creating FS9 scenery, including a new Hawaii 1959 to be released soon) and went to KSFO. The buildings and such looked fine, and all my 1962 AI traffic also looked great (the slider was at 100%). Any problems? Anything using an alpha channel for transparency (like 3D words on top of buildings) did cause objects behind it to disappear, and the coastlines and roads didn't match my old locations since FSX wouldn't read my terrain excludes. So much for FSX being back compatible with FS9! But the real problems? I was getting 14 fps instead of my usual 30 in FS9! And the airport polygon looked like a desert. And all of the library objects I used were not there, since most use transparency and cannot be used in FSX. So I quit FSX and went back to my FS2004. Ah, that's better! I do use FSX for low and slow flying away from cities where eye candy is most important, but that's only a small part of my flying. Give me FS9 for my every day sim.
  15. Hi, Not that I know of. You will find that design programs are rarely "user friendly" and it is expected that you will be able to follow such instructions.
  16. I assume you have them all hidden from the Select Aircraft menu? That saves a little loading time.
  17. It's not hard, but you have to know what the lines in that section mean. If you have a plane with a PFD you like, you can start by copying that plane's PDF section into your Window13 section. Then modify as needed. You can get the meaning of the lines from the Panels SDK.
  18. Yes, Academic appears to put a watermark on the screen (upper right, as I remember). http://www.prepar3d.com/frequently-asked-questions/ http://forum.mutleyshangar.com/index.php/topic/7845-version-13-is-out-with-academic-version/
  19. Do a web search for: FS2004 splash screen and that should get you started. Hope this helps,
  20. "Reload an AI Aircraft" means to reload that aircraft with any changes to the MDL or aircraft.cfg files. This was in reply to people discussing changing the livery of that plane by swapping textures.
  21. Another way to reload AI aircraft is to save a flight and then load it.
