  1. To be fair.. the devs did state they were having health issues.... so it is not ' Just like many others ' ... Give credit where credit is due...
  2. So why not just go to your system restore point and keep on truckin....
  3. I could run just about anything on my FSX but ESDG's CitationX v2 or the new King Air, and even feelthere's Phenom would cause a crash in FSX,, but everything else I had worked just fine.. I rebuilt a FSX only windows 7 install and now everything works just fine.. a real pain to do , but worth it in the long run.
  4. Copy keyboard macros if you have a programmable keyboard. Copy camera config files if you use Opus. Copy data files for any add-ons you have that use them, ie FSCaptain, fsuipc config files, etc... Copy panel.cfg files for any aircraft where you have modificatations due to other add-ons.. ie.. FS2Crew, FSFlight Keeper, FSCaptain..etc.. Copy any modifications to fsx files.. such as texture replacement for Feelthere's glass reflection textures if you have made any... I am sure there are more... but this is a start...
  5. Anytime I have requested support via email ( as stated on PATCx 's website ) I have been given said support... I don't consider a post to a forum as a means for support for a non-working application. I consider such postings as a general ' hey has anyone seen this' query and I don't expect ( though I welcome ) direct vendor support for such a query / posting. I guess my issue with 'forum complaints about the developers not being consistently present' is that unless the vendor in fact only has a 'forum' as the means for product support is that such complaints are misdirected and do nothing but 'sour' the product for no reason but to attempt to hurt the vendor for a perceived lack of support.
  6. The developers have stated they are performing an entire re-write of their product, which in my mind is a major undertaking... that being said: Some forum members feel they have been slighted ( for what reasons I can't imagine ) and are somewhat constant in their bashing of the PATCx product.... I feel most of us are comfortable with our purchase and are happy that PATCx is under improvement.. I don't know of any developer that sells a product with an agreement to perform weekly updates.. so you get what you get.. The developers did set a pretty high standard in the beginning with almost weekly updates and patches so I guess the general public began to expect this kind of service. While the product may have some small issues, it is in fact a viable product as it stands in it's current version, and I feel the 'they have been taking a beating lately' is unwarranted. ( the negative postings on their site, not the comment ).....
  7. I use AutoHotKey ... it works just fine.
  8. So after work today I loaded the Citation X and after loading the Flt Plan from memory ( loaded using MS Load Flight Plan ) everything looked fine except when selecting departure info, there were no runways able to select in the FMS .. So I reloaded FSX and when the selection screen for Citation X options appeared , anything I selected caused FSX to crash... Next I removed via Add/Remove programs.. and reinstalled... Now all is well I flew using my Saitek radio panel using SPADS drivers and ProATCx with no issues.. So hopefully I have this one beat..
  9. OK flew a complete flight today with no add-ons ( ATC, FSCaptain , etc ) No problems noted.
  10. Yes, but I didn't want to open a ticket about it...until I have a better idea of just what is happening.
  11. Windows 7 64 bit Home version I'll get a crash log next time I run it.. Some of them are FSX Hang, module API.DLL .. I run PMDG JS4100 with never a crash..
  12. Does anyone else have FSX crashes with Esdg's citation x v2 ? PMDG's work fine on my pc.. I bought Flight 1's B200 and it crashed, now the citation x.. ???
  13. If it is fsx.config related, then save a copy and delete the config file.. FSX will create a new one..
  14. I was told if I don't stop doing that I would go blind. .. So now I wear glasses ... I couldn't resist :-) I do wear glasses ( ever since I was 2 years old ).. I use trackIR about 5 hours a week with no noticed effects...
  15. Sounds like a duplicate assignment somewhere... but then I am just guessing.
  16. I just found this on razer's website.. ( the mouse manufacturer ).. Razer Game Booster.. I ran a quick flight this AM.. seems to work well with little to no muss or fuss..
  17. Given that less headwind - less lift, the helo with no headwind will reach the ground first... But not by much.. :-) It is my understanding that for an auto rotative landing you pretty much convert your vertical velocity in to air force to spin your rotor... then when closer to the ground you raise collective to convert that rotational force to lift to slow your decent and forward velocity. My son who is a black hawk pilot set me up for an autoratative landing in the UH-60 simulator at Ft. Rucker, which i performed with out crashing... Just my 2 cents... but it is all about velocity and converting you forward and vertical velocity to wind force to spin the rotors...
  18. Download microsoft windows debugging tools. Install ... Configure the symbols in the debugger, and load the memory.dmp file in the debugger.. It is a bit much for a newbie to do, but the only way to be sure what is causing the crash. Or email me your memory.dmp file and I'll take a look at it..
  19. Where can I get the update 2.2 readme ? My manual is labeled v1 and I only see the NGX Coupon.pdf in the 2.2 update installer.
  20. I have to unconfirm this... though I get the distressed passengers sounds, I have attempted to locate the sound files.. and so far I haven't located them. I'll keep looking and report when I have found them... but my guess is that they may be coming from another app even though I am not using it...
  21. Wait till you do some less than frugal maneuvers.... :-)
  22. I have a gigabyte GA-Z77X-UD3H LGA 1155 Intel Z77 It has some intel IRT tech on it that will use a SSD drive ( up to 60GB ) as a cache for your spinning drive. Power on to fully booted in 42 seconds ( win 7 64 bit on 1TB WD Black 7200RPM ) not too shabby for a spinner ... at any rate it was a pretty cheap way to increase performance without the $$$ for a large SSD drive.
  23. Create a copy of a good aircraft.cfg file, rename it to goodaircraft.cfg My path is: C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\SimObjects\Airplanes\PMDG_JS4100\ change this to your fsx path.... ***** enter your path here ****** copy /Y "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\SimObjects\Airplanes\PMDG_JS4100\goodaircraft.cfg" "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\SimObjects\Airplanes\PMDG_JS4100\aircraft.cfg" *********** save the stuff between the ****** 's save as fixjs4100.bat or whatever you want to name it... THIS WILL over write your current aircraft.cfg file, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED The caveat here is that once you have a good copy of your aircraft.cfg file .. you will have a backup .. but if you change it ( with the configuration app or other method ) and don't copy it as above to goodaircraft.cfg, then you will loose your changes.. it this doesn't work let me know... it works on my rig
  24. +1 for FSCaptain ... I was willy nilly making an impromptu go-around and as I lined up for final I heard someone in the back puking their guts out... Laughed so hard I crashed anyway... :-)
